...what this place would be like if the Griz were a perennial 1-11 or 2-10 team?

eGriz would either consist of:

1. Meltdown after meltdown, with tar and feathers and pitchforks out for both players and coaches; or
2. Crickets, after the fanbase had melted away.

The Griz are right in the thick of the national championship hunt, at 12-1, and you'd never know it by looking at most of the longer threads here. Incessant sniping about how one poster or the other is right about some aspect of the team, followed immediately by personal attacks and fifth grade insults, sometimes makes it seem like the fanbase likes to argue amongst itself more than root for a national-championship caliber Griz team.

Personally, I'm just enjoying the run and the great play by a terrific group of young men who make me proud to be an alum both every time they step on the field and by how they comport themselves in the community and classroom.

Go Griz! Go win it all!

Enjoyed your post. It was spot on. Though I fixed it for you. It is several fools on here who don't represent the Montana fanbase as a whole. They make it difficult to read the posts, and easy to stay away. Surprised they haven't killed the site already.

Good place to say it. Last week I finally realized the Griz could have ended up playing all the Dakota teams plus MSU until NDSU lost. Very tough path to win it all.

That's a really good story, so it just has to happen.

Amen to that! LFG!!!

We are effing spoiled, but it wouldn’t take a 1-11 season because of the standard here. We’ve had exactly 1 sub .500 season since 1985 which came due to the biggest setback and upheaval in program history.

That team across the divide has 14 or 15 losing seasons in that time? Now they’ve swung the momentum back, but even in this era of dominance (that some pundants like to point out) they had 3 straight losing seasons from 2015-2017 which also coincided with our worst 4 year stretch in that 4 decade span and still didn’t include a losing season.
