I can't remember who it was who asked this rhetorical question. I think it was a famous newscaster. Does anybody know? I'm too lazy to google it. It's kind of like asking, "where are the snows of yesterday?" Except that I wouldn't ask dumbasses that question.
 
Never mind, it was Richard Neuberger, an Oregon politician, observing that former Congressmen never return to their home states after their political lives are over. It's too hard to resist the power, influence, prestige...and money.

So yeah, it's entirely relevant.
