Can we win 4 of 5 to make the playoffs?

I won't be surprised if the Griz lose all their remaining games. This staff, and the team it's allegedly coaching, has regressed every game since NDSU.

Weber game didn't look much different than Poly, Liberty, NAU, or Davis....I don''t think they have regressed....they are playing just like the team they are....UNDSU game was an abnormality.....

This was hardly the same team that played NDSU. When you are down two QBs and missing key pieces like Counts and Peevy, you are just a struggling shell of the team. Not to mention Weyer, Logwood, Critt, and probably a couple starting secondary that went down yesterday. I know it's next man up and all but that's just bravado. We are down to second and third string in many areas and it's going be dicey. The bye week might help.

Easy question.......answer is no. Unless of course the defense can score points because this offense can't score enough points to beat ewu, msu, or even psu. Hopefully Brady is ready in two weeks. By the way if we win 4-5 it might be a conference title

Not sure why everyone thinks Brady is the difference maker....dude looked horrible in his last 2 starts prior to the injury.

The only reason I say this he seems to have a better chance of getting the ball to the play makers and sees the field better. But I agree that it probably won't make a difference.

San Diego would beat Carroll College by 100 points. Last year's win COUNTS. PERIOD
"period" is right.....one playoff win since Hauck left. A single playoff win against a non-scholarship program in the last five years does not constitute "Cadillac" status. This program has been and is in a funk. Failure to offer COA stipends is not going to help. If you think about the revenues currently (at least for now) being generated by the football program, and the potential drop in revenues if the funk continues, the decision to offer COA stipends should be a no-brainer! :?

I disagree. Changing your QB every two games hurts your offense. Being down to your 3rd string QB hurts your offense. Gus has some struggles, but he was still distinctly QB1 and was going to get better. He is in the same position as the rest of the QB's. They all have very little experience. I think Simis showed promise yesterday of what he can become, but he is still very limited. We would have won yesterday if we had QB1.

Hell, I liked Simis. Guy can throw darts.

No to playoffs.
This offense won't work against better athletes.
Who called the flat pass pick six? Terrible call and worse decision to force it on new QB.
Carroll's Wagner would have looked that off in a blink of an eye on the way to a win over San Diego.

BCS teams grade out every pass based on 3 results...if Griz staff did this they may learn a great deal...waiting
2 more years to overhaul and the heads will roll.

Isn't Chalich the one who threw the pick 6?

CAN they? Yes of course

Will they? Tough to say, at this point it's much easier to say no than yes. A week off and some improved QB health would really help

Haven't seen anything from the previous games that gives me much hope of doing so.

That said, and in keeping with the current mindset, with the bonus money we won't have to pay out for things like:
-conference championship,
-playoff games,
-national championship,
we might try buying out the remaining conference games. Don't believe its been done before, but hell, at this point anything is worth a try. By doing this we can make some positive moves in recruiting and fine tuning for our first game next year. Damn, when ya take time to really look at things there's some pretty good positives to be had!  8-)

Yes, like most I wasn't happy with the product displayed this past Saturday, but now it's Sunday and i'm once again looking forward to our game on the 24th. Faith and patience or tar and feather, i've still got a reserve of the first and tar and feathering doesn't have a shelf life. I kind of think it's a learning process for all involved. GO GRIZ!

I think it is a very slim chance of UM making the playoffs. I could see maybe a road game with 5 losses, but looking at the last 5 games of the season, there is a chance of not winning any of those games.

After the awesome NDSU win, this offense has scored 111pts. Defense allowed 112 pts. Look at the remaining schedule: ND, PSU, ISU, EWU, and cats. ND appears as inept as the Griz, so maybe there's hope in WGS. ISU finally caught fire. Kramer in the tater shed, does not bode well. PSU, EWU, and cats put up 2-3X the Griz offensive output, so pin your hopes on the D? I wish the cat November meltdown continues, but relying on that is not realistic. 4-7 record, possibly 5-6 if Kramer krashes, 6-5 if the Trail of Tears continues. Stitt COULD equal Pflu's first year record(7-4) if Stitt &Co. can adjust, or equal Donovan's last year(3-8). Based on yesterdays performance, by team and coaches, the latter is more likely. I don't believe in miracles. Playoffs? PLAYOFFS???

I think our Defense, especially linebackers, were really banged up this week. Hard to notice since a lot of them were out there but after UC Davis, Kose, Gamboa, Van Ackeren were all hobbled and really sore. Kidder has to be playing a little more careful with that gash on his leg. Given they played ok but I think a bye week right now is crucial. Hopefully the D can come out guns blazing after 2 weeks rest against UND and we can get one.

I have always thought Makena Simis is the best overall athlete in this group of QB's. He's a bigger body but fast and throws a nice ball. Playoffs ride on his development. He MUST take the pressure off our struggling line by making plays out of the read option. (Prukopesque) There has to be a heavy dose of it featuring Calhoun, a downfield runner) This will freeze the outside linebackers and open up his favorite target Roberts all day. I think this offense can still be good but it isn't going to be from Simis sitting back and making the right read, especially with a garbage line. He has to open up easy throws by making everyone respect his running ability first. Stay Healthy Simis!!!

Well I think most teams would be happy just to have a shot at the playoffs with a first year head coach. If we do make it, its just a bonus. I could see that final game against the Cats determining if we get in or not, and in that case I would like our chances. I have a feeling Stitt is a good big game/backs against the wall coach. But again if at the end of the year we have a shot at the playoffs with a 1st year coach tryingt o implement a way different system, thats pretty good in my opinion. Specially with none of his guys out there...and a absolutely horrid O-Line.
