Bringing in a new football coach with some juice has been awesome to see. I would love to see the same juice out of our AD. I’ve been outspoken on here time and time again about my personal experiences around Kent. I’m very much not a fan!

Let’s get a genuine and rad person in here to properly represent our university!! U of M is an incredible place and a dream job for lot of people. Let’s upgrade!!

Yes, has been overdue.

Dr. Jeremiah Shinn will officially take over on July 1. Will be interesting to see if and when he starts making leadership decisions and changes (if any) at the U. Does anyone know when Kent's contract is officially up?

There’s a recent thread in which someone stated his contract expires the end of this fiscal year (June, 30), and there’s a requirement of a 6 month notice in the event of non-renewal.

Ya it expires June 30, the day before Shinn starts his presidency. Would he even be able to make a change if he hasn’t started yet? Idk how that works.

I have met Kent at several GSA events. I saw him at a Bobcat playoff game one year. Every single time, the dude leaves you feeling unimpressed based on the fact that he wants you to know that he thinks he’s better than you. He’s an unapproachable douche with a smug demeanor and completely lacks enthusiasm. I challenge your description of “excellent”.

We need someone with some juice and someone who is genuine. Not a stuck up douche who leads the league in disingenuous actions.

Be careful what you wish for. Personally I’d like Costello from cats but that would certainly make an interesting move. But not gonna happen. If anything he’d be moving up. He’s done an outstanding job in bozoville.

I have never gotten that vibe from him, and I am certainly not a big deal as far as donors go. He has always been kind to me and even remembers my name. Hell, he played catch with my son for a solid twenty minutes the morning before a game a couple of years back. Sounds like you and I are talking about two different people.

Don't look for any changes from Shinn until after a full academic and athletic year. Remember he has to look over the full landscape of AD's duties that include all gender sports and all minor sports like lacrosse, tennis, volleyball, etc.

I disagree with this 100%. Every place I go and Kent is there; he always makes a point to speak and is always very friendly with conversation! I have never had an issue with this man!
