Yeah, championships, fried onions and unwashed fat rolls...

That would make a great postcard.

"Fargo: championships, fried onions, and unwashed fat rolls. Wish you were here."

Wait, I have an idea . . .
Uhh...you forgot... "Brought to you in part by foldable plastic tables...and SCHEELS".

That I did. Don't forget to enter the 2015 eGriz Postcard Contest for your chance to win $20, a golf tee, and a handwritten note from me commending you on your efforts.
Good point!
One would think that by now a 4 time national champion could make a display slightly higher quality than the local Fargo High State Track and Field title.
I wonder if they rode fire engines from the airport? Don't forget to buy our Bizon stupid shit headless shirt on sale this week for $19.99. Normally, $19.99.

smells like championships over here .

Did you ever get the national championship banner the NCAA accidentally sent to UND (your biggest rival) back? That had to be humbling. Shows where NDSU and FCS football ranks when the NCAA can't even get the banner to the right school.....as much as we all think FCS is a big deal it unfortunately isn't in the grand scheme.
You do realize that the school you cheer for is also in the FCS, right? You sound like a UND fan. Are you going to start talking about how important D1 hockey is next?

Seriously though, I never understood why someone who cheers for a school that is in the FCS would belittle the FCS. You are belittling the players from your own team.

Anyway, back on topic. I think it will be mighty hard to beat the Sioux. I mean, they have been playing the sport forever and have won multiple national titles, while we aren't even a club team and have to rely on transplanted Minnesotans to even compete with the Maulers. Of course, there is that team down the road from the Sioux that plays indoor football that also relies on transplanted Minnesotans, so I guess anything is possible.

The Armchair QBs on eGriz never understand that by belittling the division that they play in, they are insulting the men who built the program into what it is today.

Griz fans are mostly delusional, anyhow, and any of them would give their left nut to have won the past four FCS titles. They are extremely jealous of NDSU's success, and it comes across as both sour grapes and pettiness when they slam FCS football, where they can't even win a conference title this decade, let alone a national championship.

Seriously though, I never understood why someone who cheers for a school that is in the FCS would belittle the FCS.

That's interesting, because I never understood why someone who cheers for a team in the FCS cannot realize that there's bigger and better things out there while still cheering for an FCS team.

I never understood why so many posters change the subject and answer or ask different questions, as you just did. Regarding your comment, do you think there is anyone who doesn't believe there are bigger, and perhaps better, things out there?

That's interesting, because I never understood why someone would think that refusing to belittle the FCS means that one doesn't realize it is not the highest level of football. A person can respect FCS football while also realizing there are higher levels out there.

Can we try this again in something approximating the English language?

Thanks.

Hats off to the Bison, they are on the best run in FCS history, so nothing but respect for them as a team.

On the topic of can we best them? Yes but.....

1. Can our offense sustain drives? Can we use up some clock to limit the number of drives their offense gets? NDSU's power run gain is going to chew up clock, so can we make this a game of 8-9 possessions each? This will help prevent our smallish sized defense from getting worn down. 40-20 NDSU TOP is not going to work for the GRIZ.

2. Somebody can maybe correct me here but it doesn't appear that the Bison audible a whole lot so crowd noise may not be the same home field advantage that it is against so many others. They look like they basically just line it up and dare you to stop it. I could be wrong about this and hope I am because WGS is a huge advantage!

3. Their defense is going to be inexperienced, advantage GRIZ. Our offense is going to be inexperienced especially at the pivot, advantage BISON. If it comes down to playmakers; advantage GRIZ

Sorry if I am just stating the obvious, thought maybe we could take this thread back to football. Just can't get my head around insulting the other guys program when right now we are rebuilding and they are running the show. I grew up with the idea; don't talk shit until you've done shit worth talking about.

I'm not certain how the poster was belittling the fcs by pointing out the obvious truth: it is nothing but a speck on the national landscape of sports. Doesn't mean it isn't fun. But that's the honest truth. And we all know it.

That's interesting, because I never understood why so many fans of a three-time national champion would feel the need to post on eGriz.com. As another pointed out, you guys are so much like new money it's not even funny.

I enjoy speaking with fans of other quality programs. Why does the fact that the team I cheer for has won four consecutive national championships have anything to do with that? Because they are 4-time national champions, I should be too good to speak with fans of other programs? Is that how "old money" is supposed to act? If so, then apparently I am "new money".

When was I acting like a douchebag? Yes, I did throw a little sarcasm in there with the "that's interesting" stuff in response to someone else's post that was worded in the same manner, but I don't consider that to be acting like a douchebag. If you do, then I apologize. Other than that, I don't see how you could possibly feel like I was acting like a douchebag. Feel free to point out any of my posts where I was, and I will gladly apologize.

With regards to my previous post, apparently I must have misunderstood what you were trying to say. You said you never understood why NDSU fans post on egriz. You then followed it up by saying that we act like new money. With the wording and putting those two sentences in the same paragraph, I assumed the "new money" comment had to do with NDSU fans posting on here, so I responded as such. I explained my reasoning for posting here and then asked a couple questions (which you completely avoided in your response). I didn't answer those questions myself like you implied. I said IF that is what you meant "new money" to be, then I am new money. If you would like to clarify what you meant by your statement about posting on here and "new money", I will attempt to provide a more appropriate response.

The reason I fail to grasp this is because my hands are greasy from all the bacon and doughnuts I consume on a daily basis. Also, I am not very smart, but 4-peat.

You sound like a halfway decent poster so I am cool with that. If you think about it, our rabid fan bases are not that much different. We both love our teams that have a passion for FCS football. Where we differ, is that most Griz fans have been Griz fans forever. 90% of the Bison fanbase has come on within the last 2 to 3 years. And 85% of that new fanbase act like entitled ass hats who have loved Bison football for years and years when we all know it isn't true. I lived in Fargo for a while and went to Bison games a lot when they were D2 just bc I loved football. The stadium was half empty and you couldn't find bison shirts or hats unless you looked hard. I took a ton of crap when the Bison beat the Griz back then bc everyone I hung out with knew I bled Maroon. I have no problems with those similar types of Bison fans. You guys can talk all the smack you want bc your team backs it up. Where I do have a problem is when a so-called fan can't even name a player from two years ago is on our board talking smack like they've been a bison fan forever. Those guys gotta go eat more bacon wrapped donuts. If people seem rude on this board to you or other bison fans it's because 90% of your fall in that new fan category. Not your fault, it is what it is. Go Griz!

That's interesting because I never understood why someone wouldn't understand why his or her behavior seemed like a new money DB, especially when he or she only had to go back two pages to see EXACTLY what it means.

Yeah, there are definitely a LOT of bandwagon fans. I am not one of them though. I always knew I was going to NDSU. Never really even thought about going anywhere else. I try not to talk smack, especially on another team's board. I didn't have anything to do with NDSU winning any national championships, so it really isn't my place to brag anyways. Honestly, I do get annoyed when I see NDSU "fans" going onto other teams' boards just to talk smack. I enjoy discussing football with fans from other teams, which is why I am here.

Anyways, regarding the game... Obviously Montana can beat NDSU. I think it will be a very good game. This is going to be a strange year for NDSU, with the offense likely being the strength of the team. There are a lot of holes to fill on defense. Apparently there is a lot of talent there, but they are young and inexperienced, so who knows if the talent will show up on the field.
