Can Simis be The One?

Heard this from the grapevine. Expect a transfer from Colorado next year. Someone Stitt tried to recruit to the Mines, but made his way to Colorado instead. Perfect fit for our system.

I'm hopeful the Griz will finally step away from transfer QBs and build a few from freshman up. Simis looked pretty good coming out of high school. Brint is right, Simis was considered a very good recruit for the Griz when he committed. Pflug was considered one of the best QBs in the Pacific Northwest when he signed with the Griz.
Gresch Jensen is a vey good recruit, could be one of the best QBs in the Pacific Northwest this year.

A good program should be able to develop its own quarterbacks, especially when the head coach is also the OC.
I think it's great when you get a Craig Ochs, or a Drew Miller, but those guys are pretty rare and the rest of the time you're getting a Roper, or a Washington, or even a Swogger, who takes a year to learn the offense and is gone after the next. Meantime, the kid that signed with you as prep, gets to ride pine.

Simis was thought to be the next Jordy Johnson when recruited - if he can get comfy in the system and make some plays with his athletic ability that could help open up the pass game. He could give us a partial glimpse of "what it would have been like" to see JJ in this offense.

One thing I noticed about Simis is that he seemed to get the team to the LOS and get the ball snapped faster than Chalich, especially after he (Simis) was tackled on a keeper. A long way of saying I liked the tempo with him running the O.

Yeah our third string guys are better than our starters too! What a coincidence.

Yeah we are really kicking ourselves over not getting Bleskin

The best part of the Weber game was seeing Simis getting fired up on his run for that 1st down deep in our territory. Good to see a guy with some fire in him.

Give him two weeks with the 1s and time working with Stitt and I'm pretty confident in Simis.

I believe Simis will be the one and will now get the chance to prove it. The problem is that the OL -- and maybe Stitt's offensive design -- might prevent him succeeding. Sure Stitt has innovated but where's the payoff. No FBs, no TEs, going for it on 4th at your own end of the field -- none of it has shown its value yet. Semi-patiently waiting...
I believe SImis could be the one as well. IF the OL can give him some protection so he doesn't get creamed too!

That's the big question. I wonder what Germer has up his sleeve for them.
