Can coaches really move its team and fans to become 100% vaccinated?

Don’t forget Big Bacon here in CA. Those fuckers have me reeling at the moment. They control everything, and if you don’t believe that, you haven’t been paying attention.

If you are vaccinated, you shouldn’t care whether someone else is. Live your life.

Except as we’re finding out, it’s not that easy, AZ. As I noted, I give a shit about dumbasses and their dumbass decisions ONLY when it affects me. And their dumbass decision to ignore science is leading to more dangerous and more transmissible variants.

Again, make whatever choice you want. Just don’t cry when the rest of say fvck off and leave you in the dust by requiring vaccines at any event or business.

90% vaccinated is a tough order. There is so much more to all of this then just getting your damn vaccine. Some players will have medical exceptions. Some/most doctors would not advise getting the vaccine if you have had COVID-19 in the past several months. Too risky. And some just won't be comfortable getting the shot right now, with so much conflicting information out there. They should have the right to wait for awhile and not be punished. Again, 90% is a huge bar to reach. If it is not reached, games like the Husky game and games with California schools will be cancelled and forfeited. What I don't understand is that we have to be well over "herd immunity" by now. I am so unclear as to why this vaccine requirement is even a topic, at this point. It's nice to know one is available, but it should not be required at all. . . .especially amongst our young, healthy athletes. This season could be quite a roller coaster of emotions, for sure.

I think I read something in the Charleston newspaper that any Pac 12 team that has positive tests will be subject to a loss. I wish I had read the article but it is motivation for coaches to push vaccines. At USC it is not an issue.

I read Lame Kiffin got Old Miss to 100% vaccination but then again he’s an A+ Grifter.

No one even mentions herd immunity anymore because "immunity" usually means that you can't get it again but as we've seen with this virus, those who are fully vaccinated can still get it, and those who have had it previously can get it again. Therefore herd immunity doesn't seem possible. So what's the way out? Does anyone really even know anymore? Some would say stay home and/or wear masks forever (and try to force those behaviors on everyone) while others just want to live their lives normally, consequences be damned. I'm somewhere in the middle but leaning more towards the latter all the time. I don't consider life very meaningful if I can't leave my home whenever I wish, smile at random people in the grocery store, give people hugs at church, and/or hop on a plane and go to see family in Montana (and catch a Griz game of course.) (And yes I can do most if not all of that right now but I am always concerned about mandates returning.)

It is pretty obvious that we probably can't go back to large scale lockdowns (and all they seem to do is delay the inevitable anyway) yet we see some state and local governments trying to return to wholesale mask mandates and restrictions on gatherings, etc. I recently heard a doctor say that he thinks this Delta surge will be over in a matter of weeks at which point new cases should drop back down again to the levels we saw in spring and early summer. I hope and pray he's right. But as I said earlier, who really knows? This is the craziest thing most of us have ever seen in our lifetimes and hopefully we will never see anything like it again, but at long as scientists are allowed to manipulate viruses in labs there's always a risk for the next pandemic.

Lockdowns are more about control than actually fighting a virus. They work for the former, not the latter. It's another of Left's attack on capitalism.

Except it is an issue because there's still millions out there that arent vaxxed and will cause us to shut down business again, they've allowed the virus to mutate, and guess what, the new one is killing kids. kids that are too young to get the vaccine. Your mentality is the exact reason why this is kicking everyone's ass. Your "personal choice" affects everyone.

You make a lot of ASSumptions in that reply.

For the record, I AM vaccinated. And I can assure you, when i interact with someone it’s the last thing on my mind (as to whether or not they’re vaccinated). There are literally thousands of things we interact with that can kill us at any given moment….I won’t hide in a bunker cowering from COVID (or anything else for that matter) because at that point, what’s the point? it’s certainly not “living”. COVID is just one more thing added to the long list of things that can kill us. As I said, live your life as you see fit, but quit projecting YOUR expectations/requirements onto others. That’s not the basis upon with America was founded.

And as a follow up: If I (by getting vaccinated, wearing masks, etc.) am now going to be held responsible for EVERYONE ELSE’S health/safety, I’m gonna slap that fucking Big Mac out of your hand if I see it, because obesity (and associated diabetes complications) is THE number one comorbidity in this country and no one seems to want to talk about THAT. They’d rather fix a symptom than the root cause of America’s unhealthiness.

Do you have proof that the unvaccinated are creating the variants, because the variants are very selective in evading a certain type of pressure that seems to be coming from the vaccine (S protein).

Based on a timeline of the Variants of Concern, the Alpha variant was first found in the United Kingdom (U.K.) in September 2020, the Beta variant in South Africa in May 2020, the Gamma variant in Brazil in November 2020, and the Delta variant in India in October 2020. Of the Variants of Interest, the Eta variant was first detected in multiple countries in December 2020, the Iota in the U.S. in November 2020, the Kappa in India in October 2020, and the Lamba variant in Peru in December 2020. Seems this preceded most, if not all of, the introduction of the vaccine in these locations.

I read that article as well, but have also read the rebuttal that a lot of the vaccine testing was in many of those locations. Whether that is true, I don't know. I see the UK, S Africa, India and Brazil were big vaccine trial sites.

Regardless, I'm looking for a peer reviewed paper, because at this point, you have scientists on both sides pointing fingers at each other.

No way in hell does Montana get 60% vaccinated. Too many people caught in a mind Fk. That's OK.
I still have family convinced COVID is a government fraud. Even though we've been pounded by COVID.
My wife's aunt died from COVID last year. No goodbyes. Died alone intubated. Her husband had been trying to get COVID and get it over with, but never got sick.
My sister in-law got COVID right after the election and was turned away from the hospital after showing up at the ER barely breathing. She got a negative test, later proven false and was sent home with an Oxygen meter to tough it out. That never should have happened. It scared her daughters shitless because mom would stop breathing when she fell asleep. The oldest one, now 14, can now cook very well. Now my sister in-law is a long hauler and has a real tough time completing sentences without pausing to focus on the end of her thought. Needless to say, she just quit the job she's loved for 20 years. She can't get through a grocery store, or eat in a restaurant because it's too intense. My brother in-law thinks she's overreacting, but he also just lost 40% of his household income. He's pissed.

Believe whatever you want. I'll see you on the other side.

Feel free to call it whatever the term du jour is on Fox.

What it really is, though, is that the patience of the vaccinated has run out. We’re ready to move forward in life, and frankly we’ve stopped giving even so much as one little tiny fvck about the nonvaxed nutjobs.

Get the vax; don’t get the vax: we really don’t give a shit. But we want to live normal lives, and if your dumbass decisions prevent us from doing that, we’ll simply exclude you. Vax requirements everywhere, I say!!

The more a virus spreads, the more it mutates. I think most 8th graders learn that, so it's not exactly rocket surgery.

If fewer people are vaccinated, the more the virus spreads.

Ergo, using the transitive property....

It's a little more complex than that. While an RNA virus does mutate, what I'm getting at is if there is any selective pressure causing specific mutations. Those that make it easier to bypass the vaccinations like we are now seeing.

For example, we all know that you are supposed to finish your antibiotic cycle so you don't help develop resistant bacteria.

Along the same line of thinking, the vaccines are not sterilizing and thus allow "escapes". Are those escapes being selective due to a very narrow focused vaccine?

Apologies you are so worked up you have to act like a dick. Maybe you should sit out of technical discussions with your 8th grade science.

The hilarious part about the people against the vaccine because "they don't know what's in it" is that they are likely the same people that abuse other things in their lives (cigarettes, alcohol, soda, processed foods, etc.) that will likely have a far greater affect on them long term. The same person that screams "its muh American right" also drinks three PBR's every night after work, eats a highly processed dinner and doesn't do things like exercise. Lots of people out there crying they don't want to put that toxin in their body while also doing things daily that bad for them, arguably worse that getting a vaccine.

All this said, I really don't care what people decide to do, and think its their right to make that choice and not have it forced on them. I just think it many cases the people who whine the most about it are being a bit hypocritical about it.
