It is such a grind and for this level of D1, its basically teachers wages.

Ya, im wondering how much they'll play Fonati over Rocker. Im also jumping on the early hype train for Hashim Jones. I think that dude is gonna be special too.

When I mentioned the deployment it was more to the effect of let’s ride these two backs (Eli and Fanoti) and let Rocker be an emergency guy. Especially since we have another! talented true freshman back in Hashim Jones. Dudes a beast alreadyTeachers have a retirement and more job security though. There are a lot of high school teacher/coaches that would be great college assistants and they don’t make the move because of that. Especially if they have a family. When a principal leaves or gets fired they don’t fire the entire staff. Look at any D1 staff and their position coaches have been a lot of places. Hard on families.

Yeah, ask Andrew Selle. I think he would agree with you. Did a great job moving from High School to the Griz but was one and done after the staff was let go. Was not interested in staying on the merry go round.

I have a collection of former player friends who would love to get back into coaching for the connection to the game and being on a team…but not one Chance would they take a salary cut like that when they have families and Montana is so expensive now.
Andrew is a terrific guy and would have been a great addition to keep in the Offensive coaching room. One of the best Griz Qb’s ever!
Monetarily, I’m sure he is much better off now!

In the RB room I will always cheer for Tommy Running Rabbit if he is still projected to be at that position. Starter? Not likely. But if we are up three scores in the 4th, let him run the rock a few times so that he can look back on his time as a GRIZ with pride wherever his next journey takes him.

He’s a RS freshman. Don’t write him off just yet. Let’s see what he can do on special teams and make some real contributions there. Then see where running back might be for him in the future. Might not ever get into the rotation but there are other ways to contribute. I’m pulling for him big time like you.

I was impressed with Rocker last year. Seems as though he would be third in line, with the current group. Anyone been watching him to see how he’s progressing this year?
