Real question…..can offense get called for targeting? I’m guessing not. But if they are trying hard to protect players by calling targeting when there is any forceful blow with the crown of the helmet, this could weirdly fall into the category. I love how this guy runs and I’m all for running backs destroying DBs or LBs but it is interesting how it doesn’t get called on offense….because it doesn’t look any different.

A certain Bitch Boy from NAU certainly didn’t think so. He was wrong.

Holy shit I forgot about Cookus-Gate. You’re right he got tossed for targeting on that block he threw. Then went cray cray in front of 25k. That was awesome.

Sure offense can. A Wazzu OL was called for it yesterday.

Thanks for info. I didn’t realize that. Seems like it’s only called on defense.

Yes. NAU QB Case Cookus was ejected from the Griz game in 2017. Rightfully so.

Yea we chatted a little bit about that above. That was epic! I don’t see running backs ever get called for it when they lower their head like this video. Seems like a ref could technically make that call but seems like it’s extremely rare or non existent.

I would assume that the defensive player, one attempting to make the tackle, is not deemed "defenseless".

Yes valid point

don't think he has to be 'defenseless' if it is targeting. not hitting a defenseless player is a different rule.

Good player. Reminds me of chase reynolds the way he seeks contact

I don't think he's going to like the results of that against our defense. Slightly different animal than Utah Tech's.
No disrespect to him, but most of those defensive players wrapped up at all, tried to tackle up high and just bounced off. Poor tackling as much as good running.

Skattebo is the best running back in the conference, I believe. He’s got a great OL and the defense has to watch him and O’Hara so they can’t just key in on him either.

Likely doesn’t help those defenders that he’s covered in Pam….

We stand a better chance of stopping their running game than we do their passing game. That great OL pass blocks, too.
