He’s a very gifted athlete. Had the opportunity to watch him kick a few times in high school. His uncle is a friend and I understand he has a 4.0 GPA as well. He’s the whole package. A great ‘GET’ for the Griz football program.

I have also said this. The most underrated recruit the Griz picked up. Scored over 200 career points in high school. Watched him in Laurel kick not one, not two, but three touchbacks over 68-71 yards. Seriously, he is the Camden everyone wanted to stay. Not the one that ran off to the huskies. Mark my words, he’s going to be kicking in the BIG show on Sundays and everyone else is wondering how the 2 star Sentinal recruit is doing. Camden Capser is a 4.5 star recruit. He chose the Griz and he is legacy. This kid is best the Griz has seen since Dan Carpenter...and probably better as he is just starting to mature physically. He is an animal!!

Alabamagrizzly, you may not have seen it, but the East selection committee took it in the chin hard on Twitter over this. Literally dozens of people posted angry comments about it. Apparently the selection committee came back and said “yes” he is a fantastic kicker, but he is “only” a kicker. Apparently they don’t just take kickers to play in the Shrine Game. They selected other kids that “also” kicked. Even a couple collegiate level coaches weighed in publicly and said the selection committee has 1-2 players for every position except punter and kicker...it was dumbfounding??? I live in Billings and I don’t know Camden Capser, but I think he got screwed over pretty hard because he is “just” a kicker!

Thanks for the info and glad there was a “justifiable” answer. At least we can answer the age old question, “Can he kick?”

He is a soccer player and the Shrine committee didn’t like that, apparently. He was an all-state soccer player that went to kick for the football team on Friday or Saturday. Tons of NFL kickers have the same story. Ridiculous they didn’t put him on the team. I’ll say it again, biggest ball hitter I’ve ever seen outside Carpenter.

IntuitiveGriz, I saw this and was a bit surprised by the FG percentage. I see in December he beat a couple college kickers, including a current Griz kicker, in a competition. I asked around and was told that every single time he was given a chance to kick this last season something went wrong. Slipped on long wet grass in Lewistown, one or two were blocked, etc. Not that any of that is an excuse, but what I was told by a parent of one of his teammates is he is a freak of nature. I did look at all his Twitter posts and he even has a post going 6-6 from 50 yards, and the camera never stops. I really hope he gets to play as a true freshman because I believe he will be a big part of Griz football future. Just my opinion though.
