How did Nguyen do in his RS Fr year? Since he didn't get any time as a true freshman.
Because this was about freshman year rb's.

Nguyen played as a true frosh. Averaged 4.5 yards per carry, and had 267 yards.

By contrast, Calhoun has averaged 3.0 yards per carry, and has 258 yards.

So, what's your point?

I wanted to know the numbers. So I clicked over to gogriz and saw for myself. And what I saw makes the point of this thread pretty much negligible.

What's your point in asking me, specifically?

I asked because I didn't understand your post. I don't understand this one either. No big deal.

I just wanted to start a thread in regard to true freshman that come in and immediately contribute and show promise to be future Griz greats. It wasn't supposed to be a slight against Nguyen.

Win had 144 yards against Oklahoma Pine Box U. You could have hit the century mark in that joke of a game. Anyway, nice try on the cherry picking of stats Sid. At this moment in time Win has the years of experience in pass protection, etc. Give #8 one more spring ball and a fall camp and it will be an easy call... :egriz:

I am not bashing either player and I know this isn't a Nguyen thread but was anybody else blown away by his 10 yard punt return in the second half against SDSU. It only goes for 10 but he flat beats at least 4 guys and pushes another for an extra two yards at the end!!!! Also the move he put on in the SDSU defender in the first half where he took one out to our 40 was epic. That kid still doesn't know how he missed. I couldn't tackle John Nguyen in a phone booth.

Nugyen is killing it right now....Calhoun by the time hes done could be one of our best backs ever. Love his style. And I think thats the difference...some of us like the north south RB...others like PlayerRep preffer the side to side back that gets caught during his side jump cuts.....but dont get PR started...he will drum up anything he can to prove his Dartmouth education ensures that his opinion in fact makes him correct in every argument..................Regardless...less hope Nugyen keeps killing it and Calhoun keeps finding the endzone.

Not only does Nguyen not get the deserved respect from several on this forum, there is added insult in that he is STILL only on a partial scholarship. Judging from his playing time and being called upon in critical situations (for which he always delivers) he is obviously respected by the staff in his abilities but we need to step up and get him on full scholarship. :!:

If you mention Nguyen in any breathe other than being the greatest griz of all time...PlayerRep will reprimand you

Both these guys blocking skills better be at a premium this Saturday......we keep Brady upright our chances improve immensely.

Go Griz!

Take another look at the video on Calhoun's touchdown runs. Some of those holes were big enough that Bob Hermes would have scored!

Now there is a Gif video file that we all need to see.

Good one weatherman.
