Cal Poly Week

Read many similar comments about Cal Poly prior to last year's game, then CP barely beat us, went on to lose four of their next five conference games (including to MSU 45-28), and ended their season 4-7 overall, and 3-5 conference.

75, you see the bolded part? The commentary that you added about how Poly fared after playing UM? I asked what that has to do with the Poly game this week. How is it relevant? I am asking you to expand upon past stats that you introduced into the discussion. You specifically noted the MSU result, why?

Given that most teams have played only 3 games this season, why wouldn't you look at the games this season and the games last season, including the game CP played UM last season. And look at the opponents and stats this year, as well as last. And look at personnel changes.

No team or opponent or game is ever exactly the same, but who cares. There is only so much information available to analyze and make comparisons. Why wouldn't you use all of it, and perhaps focus more on stuff some than on other stuff?

I often have no clue as to what you are talking about, and this is one of those times. It seems to me that you are spewing nonsense.

As does Massey and most likely Sargin , even though Jeff doesn't give out his formula.

It is the only way that it makes sense statistically.

What the hell is wrong with you jackasses? Knock it off or there will be a few of you spending considerable time down at the end of the bench. People are sick and tired of your crap.

Will you reprimand the problem makers Everett and CDA or those who don't conform to them

This is a huge game for Montana. A win leaves us possibly at 6-0 going into the road games against nau and ewu. Split with them and we have the team to be 10-1 at years end. We know the defense can play good football. Will the offense finally come to the party? Hope so....

Go Griz.......

I'm sure this has been mentioned before but field position will be HUGE. The Montana offense seems to open up alot more outside its own 25 and can not start inside the 20 like they have many times the first two games.
What has the Griz avg starting position been over the last two games???????

Good point regarding field position. In the second half against NIU, the Griz started from their own 18, 6, 25, 12, 17, 17 and 23 yard lines and gained little in each drive. Rarely do you see a team that consistently has such poor field position win the game.

Fansmanship.com tipped me off to a possible game day hindrance (smoke from wildfires)

Seems pretty simple to me. Griz did a pretty good job keeping them off the scoreboard last year and still lost. Why? An offense in turmoil didn't score enough points. Even if the D holds the triple option in check, CP will probably score two or three TDs. The offense needs to score four touchdowns to guarantee a win.

Yup. Seems so simple to me too. Good post.

Not to far off from my thinking. The magic number to me is 36 points by the Griz to win.

Yep

I hope our coaches are aware that the game time temperature will be about 90F. I would guess that CP will think they can wear us down in the heat. This means that there will be plenty of changes of who is on the field. The temp adds a whole new angle for this game. Go Griz!

I'm wearing my Carhartts to the game, just to show those Cal Poly pussies.
I will be wearing shorts and flip flops thinking the guy in Carhartts is not too bright. ;)
