BYU AD job open, Kent interested?

We had 4 days without a positive temp. here until yesterday. And an HVAC failure, of course.

In my last summer in Tempe, we had 20 straight days when the temp never got below 100. 105 at 6 AM does get tough to handle. I once recorded 183 F in my car with the windows cracked. No wonder the OEM upholstery disintegrated.
I can confirm! hahaha

The answer is to live in AZ in the winter months. 60-85 everyday. Lots of sun. Warm pools. Great hiking. Good sports. Good restaurants. Cold beer. Walked, rode my bike, went to pool, and just got back from dinner outside on a deck. All good. Can't imagine being here when it's over 90.

Personally I'm a fan of Sun Diego.
Playing Torrey Pines tomorrow. The rough will be brutal after the Genesis.

I would never want to live where there was no change of seasons. About 12 years ago we took our trailer to the SW (New Mexico, Arizona) for six weeks in February, March. We visited friends, did touristy stuff — would have come home in a month if we hadn’t planned to see our kids in the Phoenix area right at the end of our travels. Never again.

Going to be 90 next week...short lived, but asinine all the same.

Time to face reality Griz fans, we do not have the financial resources to hire a successful D-1 coach. Our only hope is find an assistant (Hofsinger-OSU does that ring a bell?) coach who has aspirations to move on and up. It’s a crap shoot really. Did we know Hofsinger would fall on his sword? He recruited some pretty good talent but for reasons still not clarified his tenure is over. I never had the chance to meet him but I’ve heard he’s a good guy. Sorry for him and his family and I hope he finds success.
I don’t envy Kent’s task trying to find a qualified candidate who can meet the expectations of the Griz faithful.

There is significant seasonal change in AZ. A summer day in the Valley can be 117, a winter day 60. Occasional frost or snow in the winter. The desert bloom in March is something to behold as is the pervasive aroma of the orange blossoms in the spring. The coed attire on campus changes dramatically, too.

There is a huge difference in weather relative to elevation. The northern rim (Flagstaff, etc.) has weather not unlike MT. You can get all the seasonal change you want by driving 150 miles.

I like seasons, too. That’s why I live in a place that skips all the shitty ones.

How are the greens rolling at Stillwater today?
Not the best season for golf here. There is usually some winterkill damage when there is snow cover for so long. My best golf was watching the Genesis tournament at Torrey Pines over the weekend. Never got out of the house.

I'd like to skip the -30 mornings like this one.
Ya I saw how cold it was over there still. It's like 10 in Bozeman but sun is shining. 30's and 40's the next couple weeks. Hopefully melts away some of the 6 feet of snow I have in my yard. At this point I think I'd take 130 degree summers over the snow.

It's 79F in Mesa now, on way to 82. I'm going for a bike ride now, and ending the ride at one of the pools. Next few days are 82, 82, 80 and 82. Then down to 71 and 72. Sunny everyday.
