BUTTE5518 is not 5518 the store

People actively TOLD YOU that you were muddying the waters and costing 5518 Designs business, and you persisted. In fact, you were flippant and rude.

Thirdly, by coopting "5518" you were clearly making an association to the store. You can say that you thought it was a cool name, and that Butte5518 is somehow different than 5518 Designs in Butte, Montana, but any reasonable consumer would associate the two. When you google "Butte 5518," the only thing that comes up is the store. You obviously patterned your name after the store. I'm not going to psychoanalyze why you did that, but you can't just pretend the connection is pure happenstance.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. You can't have a half assed mea culpa, and then start pretending that they are 2 very different names and you never gave anyone reason to believe you were associated. You did. You were doing a fine job at apologizing and should have stopped at that. Just bounce, dude. There is a page for cat fans.

It’s already hard enough for local businesses like this in Montana and the current economic landscape. That being said, just because the company comes out and try’s to publicity dissociate from this account via social media doesn’t make it factual that they were or were not involved. The only way for most of us to ensure we are not supporting an idiot, even if there is only a small chance it’s him, is just to avoid said business, which is a shame if they truly aren’t involved.

It’s really interesting that the user on this platform first tried to distance himself, then try to throw out defamation as if he was not the one at fault for creating the situation.

Also, I really hope the mods pay attention to this as there is banter between griz fans and opponents, but when obvious lines are crossed with real world ramifications, they should step in and shut it down.

I am going to continue my lifetime ban of the store. Never heard of it. Don’t know where it is. Having our first meal in Mesa for the season now. A nice local friendly family Italian place. The owner spotted us immediately. That was nice. 76 degrees and no clouds when we arrived at 6pm. Dukes on Saturday.

This is very likely correct, and I wonder why it’s still allowed. Put very simply: the person behind that account already has, and/or will create, many more. Pretty lame.
 
Well there you have it folks. Thanks to alpha these guys ironically end up with an effective marketing and advertising campaign (completely free) and probably a nice bump in business leading into the holiday season. Who says anonymous fan forums aren't romantic.

I'll tell ya, I'm not sure who lives more rent-free in peoples' heads: Alpha or Bob Stitt.

Literally makes me laugh out loud every time one of their names comes up.
