Butte vs Billings West

21-0. Second. Dallas Cook just becomes one of five MT high school QBs to pass for 5000 yards. A certain Dave Dickenson is on that short list.

Bozeman is destroying Senior...35-0 at half. The announcers said "there is still hope"...the Broncs got a few first downs late in the 1st half. :? :egriz: Will Weyer...  :egriz:

West scores! 41-7. West should have had a couple others but their receivers have dropped a lot of passes. Mid 4th.

Ben Weyer is an excellent passer but not mobile. If you like Smithwick-Ham you will like Weyer.

Ben Weyer is an offensive lineman for the Griz, plays guard. Wil Weyer is the Bozeman quarterback. But in all deference, I believe the eGriz recruiting thread also has Ben Weyer as a verbal commit for 2014 instead of Wil, his younger brother.

Wow! Can you idiot more?

Ben Weyer is a Griz OL. I don't think there are any plans to move him to QB!

West adds another against Butte's second squad. 41-14 final. Very sad about Townsend /Broadwater. On Homecoming night no less. Pray for those families.

Last nights Billings West vs Butte game in the mining city was "Butte High Silver B and Golden B night". Football letter winners from 25 and 50 years ago (1988 and 1963) were honored at a pre-game dinner in the school gym (where they exchanged some blocks and tackles) and announced/paraded on the field just prior to kick-off. There was also one "Diamond B" (lettered 75 years ago), named Mr. Ralph Stodden, who lettered in 1938. He became only the 8th Diamond B in this proud organizations history, which began in 1940. The former players then sat together in the stands (taped off section) and watched the new kids play the game we all love. A lot of Silver B's and Golden B's were in attendance, I'd guess over 100. The current BHS players and OC Mike Schmidt and HC Arie Grey walked through the pre-game dinner in a line, as they went table to table and shook every Silver B and Golden B hand.

It was a great night, and the current DOGS made us proud :!:

Sam Jankovich, a BHS Golden B, was at the dinner. Coincidently, he coached this years (1963) Golden B honorees. And one of those honorees, Jon McElroy, was my head coach at BHS in the late eighties.

In 1957 Jankovich earned a letter in football at the University of Montana (then known as Montana State University). His playing career was cut short by a serious knee injury. Jankovich tried to give his scholarship back but Grizzly coach Jerry Williams refused his offer.

Sam Jankovich, a Butte, Montana native is sports administrator that has held several positions including athletic director at the Washington State and the University of Miami (he oversaw three national championships in football and one each in baseball, men's and women's tennis, and women's golf). He also was the CEO of the New England Patriots of the National Football League and president and general manager of the Las Vegas Gladiators of the Arena Football League.

Butte hosts Glacier this week, could be the game of the week in Class AA.

They were both two of the better teams last season, but didn't play eachother. I am eagerly awaiting this match-up.
