I have met cooks dad and only thing that would ever hold Dallas back is himself if you call holding your son back by sending game tape to different colleges outside of the state and breaking film down with him in your down time and looking for different football camps so you can get your kids name out there instead of just settling for the griz or cats like most parents in montana do where their kids better be nothing but extraordinary to get to the next level is holding him back then what do you call pushing your kid? And from what I have heard the griz have not even sent him any letter of interest or anything. Atleast the cats know how to find talent on the football field and outside instead of scouting rapists

Say hello to Mr. Cook everybody.

I can see exactly why it is a known fact throughout the entire state that the only thing keeping this kid from being something special is his father.

hahaha ...... welcome aboard Scott!

No kidding. If this is indeed Mr. Cook, then his rep certainly preceded himself, and I would hope he's aware he's actually doing his son a great diservice by posting things like that on the internet. Dallas is obviously very good, and if this guy is his dad or even a relative or friend of the family, he might want to tone down how he talks on the internet. ESPECIALLY, when this thread is very complimentary of the KID. Note to parents or friends of the family, it's THE KID PLAYING, IT'S THE KID PUTTING IN THE WORK, IT'S THE KID GOING TO SCHOOL EVERY MORNING. Back off a bit.

I'm not Scott but I met up with him after a few games and got to chat with him and pretty much told me a life story on Dallas and his other three kids and he has told me the work he puts in for them and I believed him and for people to say that he is holding his kid back is unbelievable I do agree though that he needs to be more nicer to opposing players especially after the billings west from what I have heard

What I have heard from people at Butte High, Butte Central and Anaconda is that the kid is a good player and kid - the dad is the problem.

Yeah ask Coach Klaboe about Cook's dad. When Billings West was in Butte to play the Bulldogs, Klaboe was about to go up into the stands but had to be restrained by a couple of his assistant coaches. They stopped the game until Butte High's AD went up to tell the dad to shut-up. Klaboe is about as good a guy as you will find, so it must have taken quite a bit for this guy to make his blood boil.

I will never understand parents like that. He's not doing his son any favors, and I guarantee his son is embarrassed as hell by his actions.

Like Shooter in Hoosiers except he just showed up to games drunk.

You should join your son at whatever college he ends up at and take some classes in writing.

Pretty weak compared to Scott Cook.

:wtf:

I've obviously never seen Wagner play, so I don't have much to say other than...

During the East/West Shrine game this year (Wagner was an announcer) the TV production showed a couple of Wagners passes that he threw in HHS, with Mariani somewhow miraculously pulling them down. One such catch where Mariani would then take off for long yards after the catch to the endzone like a cheetah pulling away from a bunch of loaded down mules ...with Wagner laughing and putting all the praise on Mariani.

It does take two though (WR and QB) to be great... not to mention a great blocking crew to allow the passes to happen.

Anyone get a chance to watch Dallas Cook, Butte High QB, play this year? Just curious if anyone thinks he could play for the Griz one day. He is setting records this year and isn't even a senior yet.

I follow Butte High QB play pretty closely, as it's my HS and my nephew played QB fairly recently there.

Cook is a STUD! Best QB in the state. Will be hard to keep him in state. Of course the Griz know about him, he is the state's passing/yardage leader, and is in the head coaches hometown, only 115 miles away. He's big, athletic, fast and has a VERY strong and accurate arm.

And Bozeman was just in town facing Butte. The Hawks two-way starting Safety/WR, #2, is Mick Delaney's grandson...who is named after the Griz head coach. Cook threw all over the formerly #1 team in the state, and won. Cook threw all over CMR earlier this year (and won), which is what, #1 now?

Forgot to mention Cook threw all over Billings West, the state runners-up from last season...and was ranked #5 when Butte pasted them this year.

Butte was averaging 48 points a game, until this past weekends game  :thumb:

Cook and the Butte High offense is killing it, even with losing one of it's fastest recievers (a senior) early in the season, due to trouble with the law. Kaden Caprara (a former QB).
