Lame excuse, playing a team with 0 scholarship's

Stupid comment. Not all great players need or have scholarships. You do understand that not only the Pioneer, but Ivy League schools also do not offer athletic scholarships. And there are some pretty damn good Ivy League schools. And the Pioneer is an upcoming league. USD beat CalPoly last year....in the playoffs.

We'll help me to understand, we have fifty plus athletes that are give scholarships for their athletic prowess, and they should not be a step above the academic scholarships given to non scholarship schools

Then to use your term, isn't it stupid for a university to offer athletic scholarships, because with just academic scholarship and walk on's should be able to compete with parity.

Well some kids are rich...and don't need scholarships at all. Just because someone gets an athletic scholarship doesn't means they are head and shoulders above one that does. Who knows would motivates kids to go play for certain schools.

However if I got an athletic scholarship to say Western Michigan, and an academic one to Harvard - I'm pretty certain that is a pretty dang easy choice to make, which I would pick.
How can you miss the point that non-scholarship schools have no shot at the good players that want or need a scholarship. The majority of good players.

How can you miss the point that the better non-athletic scholarship schools provide great need-based scholarships, as well as a great education, a great opportunity to meet a lot of smart (and privileged) kids who will go far in life, and get into an alumni network that will give them a huge leg up and nice job opportunities for the rest of their lives.

I agree that the majority of good players need a good scholarship.

Poor and lower middle class, and even middle class, kids get great need-based scholarships at the Ivies and various other schools. The problem is with the kids of parents who are further up in the middle class and above, as they have to pay a good chunk of their kid's education. The parent portion puts a strain on those families, and, compared to a full athletic scholarship, many of those kids opt for athletic scholarship schools. While I can understand that, I would, and have, borrowed all the money I could to put my kids through top schools, even when they might have gotten a partial at a smaller or "lesser" school. To me, it's not even a close call.

When someone gets a scholarship to play football I have to assume that the school awarding the scholarship assumes that individual is coming to play football, and getting his education paid for, can you answer me this, how many Valparaiso football players where offered athletic scholarships, or are they just rich kids with football prowess that were not offered scholarships.

Why did Jimmy Seewald, who was recruited by Big Ten schools such as Minnesota, Purdue and Penn State choose Valpraiso? We may not know but perhaps they offered him an academic scholarship whereas the other 3 did not. Bottom line is - he still got a scholarship. Why does it have to be an athletic scholarship? Although not offered by those 3, he still could've enrolled - ans chose to try and walk on.

I will research that information for you specifically on every Valpo player. My fee is $40/hr - plus I want a retainer of $1000 - non refundable.

Is Strahm considerably faster than Faatuiese? He's the one that got beat on both deep touchdowns.

Don't know, but am not sure that Vita is the one who made the mistake and got beat. On a couple of the deep balls, a secondary player was not lined up in the right spot and didn't get over to cover the deep center.

As a former secondary player, I know that the person closest to the guy running for the TD is not necessarily the guy who made the coverage mistake or got beat.

There were 2 long plays where, after shift, corner didn't get over far enough towards the middle to cover the post route. I didn't ever notice Vika trailing, so don't know which plays those were.

I'm watching the chiefs and patriots game. Blown coverages all over. Cris Collinsworth is yapping about how the lbs are stuck guarding people they shouldn't. Happens at all levels. Let's hope the Griz learn...that's the key
