Not sure if this has been discussed or not on here:

I can’t imagine Chris Klieman is too happy at his bosses this morning, not when the university president uses words like “confident” that ESPN’s “College GameDay” will return to Fargo for a third straight year. “Am I pretty sure they’re coming? Yeah. But we won’t get confirmation from them until a week or two before.”
The reason for the confirmation is GameDay’s presence is dependent on one important factor: winning. Is Dean Bresciani taking for granted the Bison will march into Missoula and beat Montana in the season opener next Saturday? You can bet the Montana brass have taken note of the “confidence” for that all-important bulletin board material.
Yes, we know Lee Fitting aFittingnd ESPN love it here and have made it known they would like to return. But they will not be here if the Bison are 1-1. Or 2-1. Or even 3-1. It’s a general known concept that a returning FCS champion better be unbeaten to get the show. We found that out last year when Fitting gave the Bison a win-or-no-show tweet at Weber State. Well, the Bison didn’t play very well although they got by the Wildcats. A few players said the “GameDay” stipulation didn’t do them any favors. If I were Klieman, I would probably prefer my bosses take a “concentrate on Montana” approach and not worry about ESPN.
The last time a president from Montana or NDSU made a comment overlooking this game was in 2003, when UM’s George Dennison basically told Joe Chapman privately that “we’re going to beat you.” And you know how that game turned out.
