Our standards are exceedingly high given our success and consistency over a generation.

A season like this one happening pre don read would have been deemed an event of joy!

Some of the seniors that are playing are not the best players at that position everyone knows this and it is what is dividing the locker room somewhat. Even if we played younger players there is not a chance they play worse than what we have seen lately. Former players agree and criticize the coaching staff for putting seniority over on the field play.

Ok, serious question for you Big G. Which seniors (I'm assuming you mean starters?) are not the best at their position and who would you replace them with? And is the locker room really divided on the issue?

Big G's post is pretty funny. I'll do the analysis.

No seniors on roster at receiver (except Berland and Haynes, and only Haynes starts), TE (except Saylor), FB, linebacker, o-tackle, kickers. So doesn't seem be those positions. Which underclassman is better than JJ at qb? Which underclassman is better than Canada and Van at rb? Which underclassman is better than Hermansen and Dennard? Which underclassman is better than Wags, Takai and Rehm? Which underclassman is better than the starting center and guards? Two TE's are listed as starters, Saylor and Ralston, so who's better than Saylor? Which underclassmen are better than Hermansen, our best safety, and Dennard, our best corner? Which underclassman is better than Haynes?

Need to get younger players some much needed reps this season for building depth and starters for next year. A lot of former players are in agreement. This should be a rebuilding year unless Micky D screws that pooch. The future is now.

Three comments.

1. Not one former player, of many I have talked to, has said that younger players should get reps this season. Real former players don't make comments like that.

2. Josh Dennard, cornerback: “All of our goals are still there. Our Big Sky goal is still there. We don’t have to panic. This is a loss and we’re going to learn from it.”

3. Giving up on the season at this point, and intentionally playing younger players over better older players, is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard.

Please tell us the number of players you queried with that question? And queried is certainly appropriate for you, right PR? We want to test your query with a chi-squared analysis to see if your results are statistically significant, or just the blatherings of an overweight has-been who thinks his net worth equals his self worth.

With all the injuries to the upperclassmen there are all ready plenty of younger players getting playing time......and there is still four more games to play!!!

You mean the great dynasty teams of the Yankees who each year traded for veterans for down the stretch? Or maybe those John Madden Raider teams who became 2nd home for the over 30 crowd? Or perhaps the Celtics in the 60s who were built around veterans? Oh wait, I got it you mean the current John Caliperi teams at Kentucky every year because they leave after their first year.
