Not sure what the deal is with the Roberson guy from SHSU. His Total Tackles is way down (not even listed on the NCAA Total Tackles page). But there he is with 20.5 Tackles for Loss (#6 on that list) and 15 Sacks (#2). So he's well ahead of Hall and Olson on those, and in Forced Fumbles. The combination of numbers makes me wonder if was not an every (defensive) down back, but was brought in for blitz packages. If so, that's likely to take the "glow" off those numbers.

With pluses and minuses on many categories, I'd generally call it a wash between Dante and Zack Hall. That being the case, I would (sadly) give the edge to Hall ... because his team won lots of games and went two deep in the playoffs. (Same thing will hurt Roberson too.) I know, that's not supposed to matter, but it does anyway, in the final crunch.

Yep, I believe you're right. I should have left out the part about the playoff two-deep.

However, at the end of the regular season (when the votes are submitted), it was apparent that SEMO would most likely get a playoff bid, and UM and SHSU would not.

What do a bunch of coaches & voters who didn’t see Dante play this season know that the BSC conference coaches don’t? I’d only assume they didn’t have their heads up their asses during the voting process.

This is a serious issue. Sure, there are always snubs from teams, but can anyone show me a division anything conference that does this year after year? You're an honorable mention all conference, and top 3 in the national defensive player of the year award? Serious question...is it Griz bias or does it happen a lot to the other teams? I don't follow them enough to see who really gets screwed, I just pay attention to Griz players...

UC Davis wide receiver Keelan Doss, Idaho State wide receiver Mitch Gueller, Weber State offensive tackle Iosua Opeta, Southern Utah center Zach Larsen, and Weber State kick returner Rashid Shaheed are all two-time first team honorees. Doss, Maier, Shaheed and Troy Andersen were all unanimous First Team offensive honorees. Tiuli and Weber State’s LeGrand Toia and Brady May were all two-time First Team selections on defense, while Tiuli and Toia were unanimous selections.

I’d bet money that coach 3peat was one of those not voting for Olson because he said Montana padded stats.
