Bubcats holding open tryouts this weekend

Found this guy in an open tryout in the spring and he ended up making the team. Former Army Ranger. His IG post from today is captioned "Just here for the violence". Lol

Got to admit I think the timing of this is a bit skewed! Seems like it you are holding open tryouts you would want to do so a helll of a lot earlier than 10 days before your season opener!

Tommy must’ve got hurt again.

He definitely looks the part. Quite the physique. Doesn’t always equate to being a great athlete, but he will be interesting to watch. Have to love vets. Non traditional students who serve their country. Tip of the hat to him and best of luck this season.

Griz fans on this site behave a lot like partisan politicians - everything about MSU is bad. When did tryouts become laughable? Never heard of a walk on? The NFL has tryouts, those Neanderthal dotards! FYI the first 2 topics on your site are about the Cats, started by egrizzers.

And I’m sure the songs of praise for the GRIZ on bcn ring out nonstop, huh?

I wouldn’t know because, you know, I don’t live on my rivals’ fan board like many cat fans do here.

Everett, you should check it out. It’s actually pretty much like that. All they talk about over there is how awesome we are and how much they look up to us and wish they were as good as we are. Then they come over here and put on the little brother act because they know how much we appreciate it. It’s all out of respect for our program.

And with a name like that if his nickname ain’t Sarge them ‘scat fans are even dumber than I gave them credit for.

Back in the day before roster limitations, rules etc....Nebraska was known for this.....they would get a couple every year from the farm land that would become a valuable part of the team....

Point of order. In actuality, MSU is a Land Grant Institution. The original mission was to produce Reserve (and ultimately National Guard also) officers. One, therefore, ought to refer to him as "Sir." Recall just a few years ago a returning All-Conference player, Odin Coe, opted to forego his senior year and join the Navy in order to become a Navy SEAL. If I'm not mistaken, your school even has an ROTC Detachment.

I believe our Special OPS kids, be they Rangers, SEALS, Delta Force, Air Force Security, are some of the world's most outstanding athletes. I also believe most who live their lives vicariously in sports chat rooms could not get through most basic training schools. Probably so fat they haven't seen their dick in ten to twenty years.

Sarge. As in “Sergeant Slaughter”. It ain’t that complicated.

Fairly obvious you wouldn't understand military terms. Call and officer "Sarge?" Don't think so. There's a reason officers don't even wear their Drill Sergeant Badge if they are OCS or prior enlisted.

In fact, Sir Slaughter has a rather nice tone to it. Just there for the violence...

At least you're not a barracks rat...

Or a puke...

Or a wasted fuck...

Edit: How did you manage to get your head out of your 4th point of contact to see it?

Good Lord...AZ is a retired Navy Officer. He knows the difference.

Mainly why I don’t come to egriz a whole lot anymore. Everything becomes a pissing match on this board. AZ made a pretty benign comment that turned into a pile of dung. I can’t wait for the season to start.

  Apparently MTMSUASUNDSUSuckState_Grad has never heard of Sergeant Slaughter.
Also apparently, he’s had his funny bone removed at some point at one of those institutions.

I’ll give him a pass on that one.

For the multi institution grad: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sgt._Slaughter

A few of you seemed interested in Devin Slaughter from last spring's open tryout. He carried the flag for military appreciation day which was really cool. Also got about 10 or so reps in garbage time. Everyone was glad to see him on the field.
