BSC Tourney

Bad news for SUU. Tevian Jones will miss the tournament with a fractured wrist. That should all but solidify UNC advancing to the championship on that side of the bracket.

With the way the real Griz ball team has played lately maybe these kids should be flown in to play the tournament in Boise.

There, got it in its proper place. Maybe a wake up call for duh Griz and Travis.

If Mack Anderson is out, we have an almost insurmountable hill to climb. But if he’s back for the tourney, we have a shot. I’m gonna enjoy watching regardless.

Mack is not the difference maker!

Agree with AllWeatherFan: Within 10 minutes of Mack's injury, Montana's defense was affected. He was the mid-key anchor of the Griz defensive attack.
Otherwise, I've been watching Big Sky battles since the beginning and I've rarely seen the top-to-bottom parity that has developed this year in conference play. I'd consider MSU and UNC as favorites, but would not be surprised if the championship final featured two entirely different teams.

well, we went 3-8 after he went down. You do the math.

Most of the way, it looked like Sac State would win handily, but the Spuds made a late run to make the final close, 57-54.

By my count he only missed 6 games in which the team went 2-4 with losses to SUU and UNC that likely would have happened with him in the line-up as well.

The interesting thing is that he only averaged 16mpg in conference games. But I agree he has definitely left a hole.

Ok hear me out, Winner of Montana/ weber could do some serious damage in tournament.
Here are a few reasons why:
1. two of the most experienced coaches as far as BSC tournament Play is concerned.
2. Msu has little tournament success or experience.
3. No home court advantage for MSU ( wsu and Griz fans will travel decent)
4. No clear favorite in the field. ( see no 1)
5. Teams may be overlooking both teams because of their finish.

I think the Griz will surprise some people mostly their own fans this week!

Griz didn’t surprise me. This is probably our worse team since the Pat Kennedy years …. And yes I know there have been teams with worse records, but the Griz get worse every week.

Tournament basketball: Portland State came out hot (over 50% on field goals) while Southern Utah came out cold (under 31% on FGs). PSU leads at the half, 35-20.
