big sky-new tier Team to stream tournament

games for first time

OGDEN, Utah (March 3, 2006) - For the first time ever, Big Sky Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournament games will be available for viewing on the Internet.

The Big Sky Conference and New Tier Communications announced Friday plans to video stream games from the upcoming men’s and women’s championship tournaments.

Alumni and fans from around the world will be able to log onto www.bigskyconf.com, click on the provided link and view tournament games free of charge. While several teams in the Big Sky Conference currently stream games, this is the first time contests from the league’s marquee events will be available on the Internet.

“We are thrilled to have tournament games streamed on the Internet for the first time,’’ said Big Sky Conference Commissioner Doug Fullerton. “New Tier currently does a tremendous job working with Northern Arizona University. We think this is something that alumni and fans who can’t attend the game in person will enjoy.’’

“We are very excited to deliver the Big Sky Conference tournament games to fans for the first time over the internet,” said Todd Merkow of New Tier Communications. “The power of streaming will allow anyone, fans, friends, family or alumni to watch from anywhere in the world and cheer their team to a tournament victory and a spot in the big dance.”

The men’s semifinals from Flagstaff, Ariz., will both be available on the Internet, as will postgame press conferences from both games, as well as the press conference from the championship game. No. 2 seed Montana will play in the first semifinal beginning at 5 p.m. Mountain. Top-seed and regular-season champion Northern Arizona will play in the second semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Mountain.

Montana and Northern Arizona will not know their opponents until the conclusion of Saturday’s first-round games between Portland State and Eastern Washington, and Sacramento State and Montana State.

New Tier and the Big Sky Conference also plan to stream the quarterfinals and semifinals from the women’s tournament on Thursday, March 10, and Friday, March 11, most likely from Pocatello, Idaho. If the tournament is in Pocatello, the women’s quarterfinals and semifinals will be played at 5:35 and 7:35 p.m. Mountain.

The media streaming & web site host partner of Northern Arizona, New Tier Communications was founded in 1994, as the leading provider of innovative CRM software to sports organizations throughout North America. New Tier Communications provides over 400 professional and collegiate sports organizations with the CRM tools to maximize ticket sales and sponsorship value. New Tier products can be found with teams in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and NCAA.

The championship games from both tournaments will not be streamed because of television rights. ESPN2 will televise the men’s championship game beginning at 7:30 p.m. Mountain. The women’s championship game will be televised for the second consecutive year by Altitude Sports and Entertainment, beginning at 5 p.m. Mountain on Saturday, March 11.

Yup sell out in a week or so which is year in advance.
2007 Spokane Host school WSU will sell tickets and they will be gone in a hurry. but the way you get tickets is: you call some school that is going to the site where you want to attend that is a surprise upset entry into the tournament like Montana last year and they have tickets and you can buy them most likely if they are new at the game. Bunch of people from Utah got Griz tickets last year for the game at Boise. Will be a tougher ticket this year but not a lot of people are ready to do a major trip for the Thursday game on the spur of the moment. Or you go on line and get ripped off. Spokane tickets will be gone in the first week. WSU will be the place to call for tickets after this season ends. You can always sell extra tickets in the days before or the day of the game but they cost $45 and up per seat and so it can be an interesting investment if you are not able to be in spokane to unload extras.
Host building has to hold a large number. Gonzaga arena too small.

WSU is actually the host of the 2007 opening round and the games will be played at the Spokane Arena as opposed to Gonzaga's McCarthey Center.

Thanks for clearing me up. Contact WSU for 2007 tickets in Spokane after this years tourney ends. Gonzaga arena too small for NCAA.
