Completely agree. Every conference needs their cellar dwellers though. I will steal this quote from Annapolis and take some liberty to apply it here.

"People who live in Greeley/Portland/San Luis Obispo, you know what their favorite school is? ... Utah Tech. 'Cause Utah Tech is the only thing that keeps those 3 schools from being the worst schools in the whole Big Sky Conference." [1]

Also, appreciate that this has been the best hornet free pre-season I can remember in a long while.

Davis could win the conference. They should be heavily favored in every conference game but one (Montana). There is a good chance they are favored in that game too. I really like their coach - seems like a good dude.

Are you predicting a catastrophe to the football season that prevents everyone from playing the other 6 games that lead up to the semis or is your math that bad?

UCD is gonna be a very good team again this year. They got a very promising QB from Minnesota and are returning the vast majority of their playmakers plus adding WSU's breakout performer from last year. On top of that the O line will be improved. D has always been their ? but this years D looks improved from last years on paper. I'd definitely consider them a con title contender.

TBH there are 3 actually good teams in the BSC, three mediocre teams and the rest could maybe be competitive in the UAC/OVC/Pioneer and NEC. Idaho, Weber and NAU are the mediocre teams. The BSC They could keep EWU Idaho State because of tradition but dump all of the other teams and get it back to a manageable, respectable conference again.

Tim Plough isn’t worried. After finding Pinnick, I’m sure he will find or develop talent at that position.

Guess that means that Montana wins the brawl this year and will receive a top-2 seed after going 9-0 in the conference and winning the Big Sky Championship. Quite the blunder for MSU and UCD to forget to play their 9th conference game.
