I watched, on tv, EWU give Wash State (PAC 10) a good game.
And I also watched NCU defeat Hawaii (WAC) for the title in Hawaii's invitational tournament. Granted Hawaii was playing without their suspended 7'0" center. The score 52-50 when NCU went on a 19-0 run. Hawaii was falling behind and forcing up horrible looking 3 pt shots. The NCU coach was smart and had went to a zone defense, knowing Hawaii is weak from the outside. Hawaii went full court press, got some steals and started hit their shtos, even 3 pt'ers. They got it to within 2 pts very late, but NCU sealed it at the free throw line. Pretty entertaining game.
Both NCU and Hawaii are predicted to finish in the middle to lower half of their conferences...NCU I think I recall 6th, after having finished 5th last season. But the ESPN announcers, Carter Blackburn (formerly of CSTV) and I forget the other guy's name, kept saying how the BSC now has a new favorite (in NCU). They mentioned Weber and Montana as the favorites, but said that NCU will compete VERY favorably in the BSC. It was mainly the other guy (color commentary), more so than Blackburn.
While NCU is 3-0 and look pretty good, I don't think they will finish 1 or 2 in the BSC. I do think the BSC is a stronger league this year however after seeing some of these lower predicted teams.
