Britt in the portal

So, are you saying the Griz coaches failure to have two qbs ready to play contributed to a 6th place finish or are you saying the Cat coaches are superior because they had two qbs ready to play that contributed to their Big Sky conference championship?

Cats are fortunate to have 2 very good qb's who fit their offense. Griz thought Brown would do better. The UM 6th place finish is meaningful, and your repeating it shows that you don't understand football. Did you even start in high school?

Cats weren't fortunate. The coaches did their job. Recruited and developed and used an offense that fit their personnel. Scored 55 points against us and rushed for 450 yards. Were Big Sky conference champions. Griz=6th place.

And ended up being ranked 4th in the nation. Pretty good. When both qb's went down in the last game, the Cats' O sucked.

Actually, their offense struggled for most of the game because the other team ran a defense capable of stopping their offense. The Cats 4th string qb that came in marched right down the field. He would have started for us.

I am not going to get into whether or not the coaches can develop the QB position, but I will say that I have heard similar to what hoops stated. One of the big frustrations the coaches had, and a big reason Brown was who they went with early, is Britt was hesitant to listen to the coaches. The coaches had significant confidence issues in him. I know this will get the Britt backers all fired up, but the coaches don't carry all the blame on how Britt's time worked out in Missoula.

Hi uppity,
Love the trolling. Very entertaining.
But if I could make one simple request? Do you mind not using the words “we” or “us”? It gets so confusing as I assume you’re talking about your fighting bubcats.
Thanks, and keep fighting the good fight!

I agree with part of your statement, but they absolutely share 100% of the blame for not having qbs ready to play. They pulled Brown during the playoffs for a videographer. Britt was elevated to 2nd team qb so at some point, the coaches demonstrated they believed in him.

were he the only example I might agree with you. Alas, he is not.

I think it demonstrated that they had lost confidence in Brown more than belief in Britt.

I was speaking specifically about Britt. Also, outside of the Brown experiment of the past couple seasons, what other glaring examples do you have?

Or upstartfizz. For someone registered under this username for only three weeks and who has posted over 250 times in that timeframe, this Bobcat dipstick should just be ignored.

Me too. Plus, after Johnson went down at Sac, Britt started getting a lot more reps. After a couple weeks, Britt had had many more reps in practice and more coaching attention. I attended some of those practices. Both Brown and Britt were working hard.

I think it demonstrated a lack of confidence when they pulled him from the quarter-finals game for a videographer and coaching negligence to have him be the backup the next year.

The kid who came in was a pretty good player. He wasn't a videographer. He had the opportunity to continue with the Griz, but opted to move on with his life and got a chance to stay involved in that staff position. I don't know if it was lack of confidence, or just trying another tack with a different kind of player.

Yet they had more confidence in him than Britt to begin the season.

He clearly earned that confidence.
