As his coach,I have access to one. My goal at this age is to teach fundamentals and understanding of the game. I want them to absolutely fall in love with the game! Good techniques now, strength and control when they mature a little more physically, wich is what a sled is for.He has spent two years as a center and d. End, but this year he has become the qb. Still plays d end though. I love teaching these boys the great game of football, and would recommend that the posters on here to volunteer to coach youth football. Thanks for checking out the Post. Go Griz!

Looks like we've got a potential future Griz in the making! :thumb:

That is awesome! I hope you enjoyed your night in spite of the results. We try to be great hosts to visiting fans in Lynchburg.

Sly:

You have very beautiful facilities and that was a georgeous night for football. I wish we could have played better, but congratulations to the Flames on the win.

Your stadium experience is impressive. Not trying to be partisan, but you have a way to go to be on par with our stadium experience. I thought Liberty folks were nice, but we must have walked by a couple dozen tailgates and not one person said hello or welcomed us. That wouldn't happen in Missoula. You would be invited in and invited to partake in all the food and drink you might want. Just sayin.....

Best of luck the rest of the season.

Sly fox, we did enjoy our night. Very nice place ya got there! The LU fans were nice and polite, but none of them engaged us to talk football or invited us into their tailgating parties. I always enjoy meeting other fans and talking about the program highs and lows so to speak. At the Appalachian state game we had to pull ourselves away from their fans just to make knockoff. I was also sort of surprised with the "overrated" chant. That game could have went either way until 4:00 left in the fourth. All in all it was a great time.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. We are unaccustomed to having a significant number of visiting fans show up at our place. So the culture of inviting visiting fans to join tailgates in new territory for us. That's part of being stuck in the Big South where our typical opposing teams coming to Williams Stadium are the Presbyterians and Gardner-Webbs of the world.

Aren't Presbyterians just Baptists who can read?

Regardless of what you're "accustomed to," it seems to me that inviting "visitors" to join the party should just be second nature. That seems like a cop-out to me. I guess maybe Western hospitality means something other than just being polite--always, always the more the merrier.

As far as the "overrated" chant, I'm imagining that was mostly the students, and I can totally imagine our student section doing the same thing, but probably not to an unfamiliar opponent. Maybe a conference foe, or another team/fanbase with which there was a lot of lead-up and smack talk. That didn't really happen here, at least not mutually, so if anything that chant is a sign of respect. ;)

I have to say I was also disappointed in our tailgating experience with the Liberty Fans, and I am a Liberty Alumni '79. We were invited to a tailgate party, had to pay $3.00 for a hamburger or hotdog. I didn't have a problem paying a couple of bucks for some food, but I thought some Liberty Fans would have at least talked with us. The food was good, but only one guy talked with us and another person told us "They were Liberty all the way and don't try to sway us!" Like we were there to do that. It just seemed cold compared to our tailgating experience with out of town fans in Missoula. We just wanted to see a good game a battle in the trenches with the best team on top.The facilities on the mountain have changed dramatically since my days in Lynchburg and I am proud to be a Liberty Graduate, but I also expected a little more friendly Southern Hospitality.
