Brickbreden sucks

The one that gets me is "Eat sh*t grizzlies, go cats go". That chant is so old they really need some new material. The funny thing is, when the students were chanting it, cochamp and the cheer squad were leading the chant.

At the end, all of us Griz fans stood and chanted "Lets go grizzlies" as the kitty fans headed for the exits. A few classless comments were directed at us as we left the fieldhouse, typical of a visit to bozo. We headed straight for the car and got the hell out of that sh*thole without stopping and spending a dime in that town. The beers were cold and it was a very enjoyable ride back to Butte!!

GO GRIZ!!

I know many Griz Fans who won't go to MSU for a Sporting Event because of all the harassment & it doesn't matter if the Griz Win or loose the harassment is the same!!! It is very SAD it has to be this way!!!!

From Butte, we drive the extra 40 miles and head west for Missoula when we need to go to Costco. After 3 or 4 very unpleasant trips to bozo for football and basketball I will not shop, dine or even buy gas in that town.

Man you guys are a bunch of F'N whiners. "I won't even go to Bozeman because they are mean to me and hurt my feelings." It goes both ways, you drive into Missoula with Cat plates and you don't exactly get a warm welcome. Bottom line is that is a huge rivalry within this state and you should not expect people from the opposing team to kiss your ass when you show up to town. Griz fans were not exactly classy when we were leaving Wa Griz after the Cats beat them in 02' but you don't see me balling my eyes out to anyone that will listen. Get over it.

Hey, I can take the smack with the best of them, but when very very vulgar things are being said in front of women and children it has crossed the line. I have been to games at alot of opposing teams places and I have never heard the stuff I hear in bozo. You should be very proud of your fans and please keep defending them.

I am not saying there aren't idiots. Both UM and MSU have them (whether you want to admit it or not) Chitown and Richard Cranium come to mind. It is too bad that these people feel they need to act this way but it is not something you or I can control. That is my point, it gets old hearing you guys whine about it. :twocents:

Of course not. Coming from a sCat fan, you know nobody would listen. Nobody would care. :werd:

MM7,

For me personally its not the chanting or whathaveyou, its just the fact that it is not original and yet the chanters act as though they are the most clever and risque' peanuts in the turd. The D.U.I. chant to MC is pot to kettle. You can not deny that. And how long ago did that happen, 3, 4 years? I will give you guys this, though, your students did at least make an effort to be a presence at the game. This season the students havent been all there for UM, unfortunately. But when UM students have its more of a 'be loud factor', not a 'lets try to think of the most offensive and high schoolesque thing to say'. I know you can say that we have our fair share of students that act the same as yours, and students will be students, but it just seems, when you take in both sides overall, UM students are more about the passion of the sport (football or bball) and msu is more about passion of getting some self attention. Thats just how i see the difference.

Having lived in both town for several years, I feel the need to chime in. As a Missoula kid, I remember the cheering and jeering to be more "pro-Griz" than "anti-cat". Aside from the occassional clever chant or two, most Griz folks seem to be more concerned with the motivating of our own team than denegrating the opponent. (Although some Idaho teams of the 80s would probably argue that point).

There seems to be more hatred of the Griz here than a hatred of the cats in Missoula. I mean, when you have 50 and 60 year olds wearing stickers on their jackets that say "eat shit Grizzlies, go cats go" that says alot.

Of course, when you constantly have to see the Griz on local TV and ESPN, it does nothing but pour salt into the wound.

I can attest, however, that there is a very large contingent of pro-Griz fans in this area. I see it every single day. They visit my office and comment to me about how they have a brother, sister, daughter, mother, etc who went to UM or is at UM now and how much they love UM. Seriously, you wouldn't believe it. That too, adds to the frustration of cat fans and just creates even more bitterness... :twocents:

I don't seem to recall UM students/fans chanting to cat players about their team's recent history with drugs and arrests, at least not in unison.

How can Champ lead a vulgar cheer if he doesn't speak?

He doesn't do much of anything that I can see. What a lame mascot.

Also, I hear he got booed pretty good at the CBA All star game in Butte tuesday night, LOL

I percieve the same distiction in fans Remax. The Cat's seem to be preocupied with "hate". I also witness from my floor seats near the band at the Adams Center that we police our own crowd and when an obnoxious foul mouth is going on and on he gets shut up fast or escorted out. I have done this myself or grabbed one of the 3 deputies we have within 20 feet of the visitor's bench. I have seen our AD's and staff sit next to loudmouths babysitting them for a half keeping them in line. The point is dude, we don't condone it, apparently the MSU adminstration does.
Good job Griz last night in handling the loss of Andrew, fighting through the low class crowd and just taking care of business. You guaranteed that the Cats won't host us again this year and more likely they will have to come back to Missoula for another spanking from us.
We welcome you to Missoula, where the fans will even applaud and admire an outstanding play by the visting team!

I'm not meaning to say that Griz fans don't act like that, I've seen a fair share of jagg-off Griz fans around as well. However I've never heard our whole crowd shout a cheer with profanity in it or oganized cheers referencing any sort of legal issues a cat player/coach has had

Alright, you guys are right. Griz fans are the best. They go out of there way to make sure Cats fans have a wonderful experience in whatever they do. I dunno, maybe 17 years of being laughed at and basically told that MSU grads, kitties, bobpussies, whatever you want to call us, are not worthy of even being called Montanans has created a little animosity towards UM fans. Thats just the way I see it. I can tell you this, I did not graduate from MSU and have no family connection to the university. The reason that I became a fan of MSU athletics is because of abnoxious, in your face, griz fans. Its no different today, look at the title of this thread. Sorry that our facilities are not up to par with the mighty friz. You guys are so arrogant that you don't even realize it. It's just habit I guess.

I was not at the game and I would have to agree that the last thing that a Cat fan should be taunting a griz player about would be legal issues.

On a more positive note I was listening to ESPN on the radio and Fran Fraschilla (sp) gave the cat/Griz game props as one of the outstanding rivalries in the country that doesn't get enough attention because it isn't well known like NC/Duke. I thought that was pretty cool coming from a guy who covers the Big 12 for a living.

Don't you guys have a website of your own?? If so, why do you spend all your time on a Griz board?

Actually I have not posted here in a while. I come over once in a while to see whats happening. You know the whole friends close enemies closer thing. I forgot that outside opinions are not welcome here. It's funny how whenever one of you doesn't like something posted or has nothing useful to say its the classic "Don't you have your own board? What are you doing here?" :lame:
