My only question is why do 2 Griz in back to back years choose the Armpit that is Nebraska, a program that hasn't been relevant since they were in their strollers?

Graduate program? Buschini hasn't finished his freshman year.horribilisfan8184 said:Cuervohola said:My only question is why do 2 Griz in back to back years choose the Armpit that is Nebraska, a program that hasn't been relevant since they were in their strollers?
Are you suggesting he turned down better Big 10 offers? I'd put money on this was the only Big 10 offer.
That said, maybe they had the right graduate program. Or maybe he likes Omaha steaks. Or maybe red is his favorite color.

Exposure.

Plus, he'll get LOTS of chances to punt there.

What if I tell you that Buschini had 69 punts and Nebraska had 48 punts for the season?
Maybe when your net punting average is 35 yards it favors going for it on 4th. They did not have the punting weapon Montana had and Montana had more trust in its defense. Since Nebraska was rarely in the lead in their 12 games and needing to make something happen on 4th downs, they went for it more than Montana did in their 13 games.grizindabox said:AZGrizFan said:Plus, he'll get LOTS of chances to punt there.

What if I tell you he won't be punting with last year's team?![]()

Well, that is true no matter where he is, but your automatic assumption that it will increase his number of points is false based on the numbers available. Nebraska punted 4x per game and Montana punted 5.3x per game. The most punts in FBS was 81 and only 7 had more punts than Buschini had this season at Montana. I think the notion that he will punt more are false.

I was referring to Toure, you know, the guy who recruited Buschini to Nebraska. Buschini already stated he chose Nebraska for its downhill skiing.
I would expect Bobby to bring in an older k/P as well but make no doubt of Rohrbach’s ability at any kicking duty.Carpe Diem Griz said:grizare#1 said:Buschini, Rohrbach and Casper all have been students under Dylan Torgerson kicking and punting for several years.
Their level of play speaks for its self.
In fact most all of the top kickers in the state have worked with Torgerson. He played for flathead many years ago and then for Carrol College!
He is an excellent coach, working with high school up to pros.
Purely speculation here as I have given up trying to predict what Coach Hauck is going to do. My son loves playing for Hauck, but he does a great job keeping even the players on edge and not knowing roster details. In looking at this punting situation, I imagine they will bring a transfer in that is (1st) a punter with experience, but is a combo kicker (2nd) and can backup placekicking duties. Gilman has struggled all year and is frustrated. Capser is an animal with a leg to boot and has healed up from ACL surgery. Excellent choice to replace Macias and he's already in-house. Hauck typically like to give specialists a year or two to put some muscle weight on, so I'm not expecting Rohrbach to dress his freshman year. He may backup punter.
I agree and scouts can see assess punt distance, speed of getting punt off after catching the snap, hang time, etc comparing apples to apples where ever you play. But the more I hear from him on Twitter and from people around the team I am just fine with him leaving. On to someone that wants to be here and concerned with team wins, not individual awards.indiancoyote said:I'm betting hus averages go down significantly. He'll have less time to get kicks off and the guys returning will be much better athletes. Not to mention, Big 10 schools will actually ST coaches. Not sure he could get anymore exposure than being the national punter of the year.

He is just under 6’ and 185, the listed stats were from his Freshman year. I see he was also just selected to the East/West Shrine game in June.
