How is Bolomboy left off that team? :wtf:

Don't know why, but Breunig is a better player and more deserving. The Region VIII team selectors aren't influenced by who the conference winner is, as coaches are in the Big Sky.

That's your opinion. Not saying Breunig isn't deserving but very debatable that he or Telfair are more deserving than Bolomboy. Conference coaches and NBA scouts would argue Bolomboy is better.

I don't think that Breunig is a better player or more deserving either. Bolomboy is the better overall player IMO. That said I am not taking anything away from Breunig. He is very good and there isn't a lot of difference. If I were to rate them on 5 different aspects of their game I would say Bolomboy is a better defensive player, I would give Breunig the advantage offensively inside as is better at creating shots, Bolomboy the advantage offensively outside as he appears to have more range, I feel that Bolomboy is a stronger rebounder but they are very close in that regard and Breunig is a better passer.

I would take either one of them on my team and not feel slighted as they are both a force.

It is obviously the opinion of Region VIII team selectors too--not just my opinion. Big Sky coaches tend to select an MVP from the conference winner. All of Growler's NBA scout friends say Breunig is better. Ha.

Their stats are remarkably similar. Bolomboy is a better rebounder. Breunig shoots a higher percentage, by 4% for the season and 7% in conference. Breunig shot 50% from 3 in conference (1 for 2); Bolomboy shot 36% in conference, making 8. I think Breunig is actually a pretty good outside shooter (judging more from practice), but didn't shoot much from the outside.

No doubt by my assessment that Breunig and Bolomboy are the two premier talents in the Big Sky this season. I also realize (and accept) that the MVP usually goes to the player from the regular season champs. So, I feel pretty good about how things evened out with Breunig's selection for the Region VIII team.

Hearty congratulations Martin Breunig!!!
