Brent Pease to coach UM WR’s

I wish bad timing and bad fit would have been acceptable excuses for me when I was job hunting.

The thing is Pease had some early career success in the Northwest along with being born there that really built his name up. People still attach his name to that success. Maybe because they didnt follow him as close as he moved cross country? They aren't fully aware that he has failed at his job for almost 10 straight years now. Whoever said Bobby did him a solid was exactly right. He has done nothing at his last 4 stops that should have warranted even slight consideration for an FCS job. That being said, I hope he bounces back and proves himself as the talented coach many expected in his early years. I love a good comeback/2nd chance story. This one would be a positive for the Griz so that makes it that much better.

I disagree. FBS job maybe but an FCS job sure. It’s not like we’re hiring top level coaches here. I think some on here have forgotten that. Considering there are 129 FBS teams and 10 coaches per team, that’s almost 1300 jobs that will pay waaaaaaaaay more then Montana will pay a WR coach.

I can see that part I guess. However, that would also mean that I accept hiring a guy who was fired from his previous 4 jobs. I would be fired if I hired that job candidate.

The life of a coach. Fired from your job for not meeting expectations and with in a year, working someplace else doing the exact same thing.

Its different when you have only a few years of minimal, unsustained success in the beginning of your coaching career. You don't typically continue getting handed job offers. We aren't talking the greats (Nick Saban) or the middle of the road guys (Brian Kelly). Sooner or later you have to start back towards the bottom and work your way up. Using head coaches as an example instead of coaches that have strictly been a position coach only, think:
Turner Gill
Paul Wulff
Charlie Strong
and staying close to home,
Robin Pflugrad

Again, I hope it develops in to a great comeback story for him.
