I won't deny the guys knows his Xs and Os, but that doesn't mean he isn't a douchebag. He also has an irrational and unwarranted hatred for all things FCS.

This is funny and just plain wrong....He was in Fargo twice for Gameday and had nothing but positive things to say about NDSU and the FCS as a whole and said how the Gameday atmosphere in Fargo was the best that it ever has been. I was there for the first Gameday in Fargo and actually drank a beer with him and a producer at the OB. He said they were having a blast and couldn't wait to come back, which they did. Multiple times during those Gameday segments he mentioned that there was excellent football being played in the FCS and that the top teams in the FCS could compete with the majority of FBS teams. The only thing I have heard him say is that the FBS should stop scheduling FCS teams if they were going to be bloodbaths. He happened to make those comments during the SEC's annual week of scheduling horrible FCS schools.

Meh, whatever. I don't watch Gameday, I'm just going off what I've heard him say on national game broadcasts.

Had the pleasure of sitting with Mr Musbuerger years ago on a flight from Missoula to Orlando. Nice guy, and down to earth like any Montanan would be. The FCS will get plenty of recognition from this team during the broadcast.

Many of you were sleeping a month ago when I reported that Brent would be calling this game. Some facts for U idiots that spew out pure BS:

Brent lives East of Hamilton Montana with his wife Arlene. He has two sons that live a mile away also East of Hamilton.
I assisted him to meet with Bob Stitt this summer.
Brent is a great person and I like him, my guess is this will help the Griz program and it sure as hell will beat any announcers we have had in the past.
Brent also was a good friend of Bobby Hauck. Both from Big Timber Montana.
Brent is very much aware of the Griz program and has attended UM functions in the past.
Our AD has met with and visited with this famous announcer.
I am glad as hell that he is the sporscaster for this game. Now if we could just win the game and make a good showing.

I've got some more "insider information": I bagged his groceries once at Super 1 in Hamilton...he was wearing an NBA on ABC hat and I asked if he was Brent Musburger, and he replied "Guilty as Charged". A very cool guy. My sister worked at Papa Murphys and said he was in there every week getting pizza and always declaring how good it was haha. It sure would be nice to live up on the Stock Farm. I have had friends caddy for him and my brother also caddied up there.

When my son was 9 years old we were attending the US Tennis Open in New York and sitting in the stands before the matches started. Brent was in the CBS booth a couple of rows above us, so I suggested that my son go up to the booth, introduce himself to Brent and visit about Billings, our mutual friends and Montana. Brent couldn't have been more gracious and they chatted for about ten minutes.
Everyone in Montana should be proud of America's premier sportscaster.
