Breakout Players and Player of the Game - Idaho State

Who do you think were the breakout players and player of the game for the Idaho State game? For me, the breakout players were Jake Mason, Evan Shafer, Brady Beaner, DeAntre Gentry, and the players on the special teams. The Player of the Game was hands down Michael Wortham.

Did Beaner play quite a bit? At CB? Heard his name called once, but that was it. Maybe that's telling of how well he covered?

I'm at a point where Ford should be considered a last resort on defense. Lawler has upped his play after a slow start, and is frankly covering quite well now, but I'm afraid Ford is trending in the opposite direction and is obviously why we're seeing Gentry, and now Beaner, mixed in more prominently the last few games.

He played about 40-50% of the series on D, I think had 3 tackles

Mason, Finch, and Gentry get my nods
Perfect. Mason is a horse on the d line, Gentry made a huge improvement from his first game vs Idaho last week to this week (as bobby predicted at qb club), great pick and played solid. Finch is such a stud, and does so much in the run game blocking wise that goes un noticed for a lot of people. He had some huge blocks in this game, but he consistently busts his ass in the run game, and I think you could count on one hand the amount of passes that have gone his way this season. Its a rare dude that will do that for his team at that position. Glad we have him from good ol hellgate high!

Super glad to have you here, and very happy to have your nephews! Everything I have read about them makes me feel like they are the kind of kids that will be great leaders here by the time they are done.

Where can we find your podcast?
I haven’t put out a new episode in a while but there’s some good throwbacks.

@recruitradarpnw on X, or you can find links to all of our shows on my website recruit-radar.com

They will be great players for the Grizz! I said this on another post, but I would not be surprised if they groom Brock to take Wing’s spot when it’s all said and done. Brady had way more time in the secondary in HS than Brock did.

it will be exciting when they are both on the field together, look very much the same but their play styles are a bit different.

Colton Lentz is also going to be a GREAT player.

Love that enthusiasm! From what I saw on their HUDL tapes and read about them, I was absolutely expecting those kids to see the field on special teams right away and move into productive starting roles by the time they are upper classmen.

Absolutely jacked to have them be a part of what is building in Missoula, and to have you along for the ride, too. I will check out the pod and the site!

You got a Grizz fan for life in me now! Glad to be a part of the journey!

Montana is recruiting WA state better than anybody right now including the two WA schools. They are finding the football players!

Sage Salopek, Colton, and the twins all played 7 on 7 together in middle school.

Also, Brady Jay the commit from Moses Lake is a great player too and kid. I have gotten to know him and his dad (Moses Lake HC) pretty well.

We seem to be doing well recruiting coaches kids lately. Dane Parker, Keelan White, and Luke Flowers are all solid ones off the top of my head, and seem to fit what we do well. The coaches definitely coach hard at Montana, and I think they have really learned that there are less kids that can take that these days compared to Bobby's first stint. While they have softened up just a touch, they are also recruiting the kind of kids that will welcome that hard coaching.

Glad to hear we are recruiting Washington so well! There is a lot of talent and opportunity that we can strike with in Washington. I've only seen tape of the kid from Moses Lake before his senior season started, but he really looks like a good one.

Welcome to Griz Nation, where we are happy to have the entire Beaner clan around. Go Griz!

If Brady Jay can keep up his current pace, he might break Kellen Moore’s records for completions and Touchdowns in WA state!

Thanks for sharing the insight Uncle Beaner. Can't wait to see Brady and Brock playing on the field at the same time.

I really like the OL from WA coming in with Brady Jay. What do you know about Josiah West? What do you know about Cooper Neer from the Tri-Cities (Kennewick)?
