Likely an offer tendered ... pending BoR approval. So Haslam issuing a denial -- one-on-one without a formal press conference -- makes total sense. "Nothing is final" is technically, and objectively, accurate and "the truth."

Organizations have every right to "control the narrative," no matter how much it might annoy outsiders. But leaks are now a way of life and there's a whole infrastructure to exploit that. So here we are.

I’m pretty pro-Haslam, but if
this is false it’s what Haslam gets for a) not responding to Skyline’s request for comment and b) not keeping the fans in the loop at ALL about the hiring process (I.e. who are the candidates, when are the interviews, etc). Tomorrow is day 11 since Stitt was fired, this is becoming a circus and Haslam is becoming the ringleader.

Now that is funny. Obviously the university in the state that is the anchor isnt the one with the dwindling numbers and massive cuts happening but the university with surging enrollment and new buildings going up around every corner. :roll:

Honestly though, congrats on the new coach hire, should make things pretty interesting in the big sky for the next few years.

You are spot on with this. Would it kill the UM media dept to let out so info and details once in a while. They don't have to tell all, but who are the candidates, when will they interview, when isthe potential timeframe, will the recruits keep their offers, etc. UM being so tight lipped on this one is the reason it blew up. I'm glad it did actually. Maybe they'll learn something from this.
