I grew up when dinosaurs ruled the earth. It was Cat-Griz statewide back then, except in Missoula where it was Grizzley-Bobcat. CAT-GRIZ baby.grizCat is probably the stupidest sounding thing I've ever heard anywhere in the history of sports.
I used to think the same. But then I practiced & practiced, and now Griz/Cat feels & sounds SO much better! Give it a try!Apologies to all my Griz brethren but Cat/Griz rolls off the tongue much better than Griz/Cat....
Nice! Might as well start making jelly and peanut butter sammiches too.I used to think the same. But then I practiced & practiced, and now Griz/Cat feels & sounds SO much better! Give it a try!
That's interesting. I've been around quite a long time as well and have pretty much traveled to every town in Montana and I had never heard anyone call it Griz Cat until ten, maybe fifteen years ago. All good, to each his own.I was born and raised east of the Divide in Cat country. My family always called it Griz-Cat.
When I was a student @ UM in the '60's we reffered to it the sameCat/Griz
This. The Great Divide or the Divide.the great divide.
Mom,I've never understood why the name is such a big point of contention. I thought the Battle of the brawl was pretty funny.
