Montana's receiving corps is a bit of a one-trick pony in that regard.
While Montana'a receiver corp is not up to EWU's, this is not a true statement.

Ok, fair enough. Probably a bit of an exaggeration.

Completely different schemes...EWU threw the ball over 100 times more than Montana did. It's like comparing apples and tomatos.

I just got a Kooper Cup for my office because the coffee they give out for free is pretty bad. It's pretty cool, but I'm not stoked on the fact that one cannot reuse the K-Cups. Oh well.

Don't ya just love the off season??

In my humble (never played the game) opinion, both receivers are very good but I'm really not even comparing them against each other! Henderson is a great receiver and competitor and frankly wouldn't trade him for another player. I'm not an EWU fan and certainly don't have ANY "eagle envy" but yes, I would be happy to have Kupp on my team! He showed a ton of intelligence, talent and poise (as a freshman) in the few games I've seen him play!! In fact he reminds me of some very good Griz receivers we've had in the past!!

Maybe the FCS NC prize should be called the Kooper Cup.

Late to the Party on this one...

As far as the original topic of the thread. Kaufman really had nothing left to do at EWU. He had graduated, broken almost every record he could, and won a national championship. His draft stock probably would not have risen had he stayed another year considering the year he had as a junior. Tough to knock him for leaving early, although it hasn't worked out....yet.

As far as Kupp and Henderson. Both are studs, Kupp definitely plays in a more high octane, passing offense so his numbers are skewed a bit, but both are fantastic players. Can't go wrong with choosing either one of them, both are going to be lighting up Big Sky defenses for the next few years....

I respect marceagfan5 because he is an EAGS fan which makes him superior when compared to the normal egriz poster. However, his statement above makes it seem like the EAGS pass the ball far more than the griz. Contrary to this I submit the following metrics that provide evidence that the EAGS passing offense was far superior to the griz in passing offense:

In conference play, the EAGS had only a total of 24 more pass attempts than the griz in the same number of games. However, the EAGS were far more effective, and skilled than the griz because they had 51 more completions, 860 more yards and 15 more touchdowns from passing plays than the griz. The EAGS were far more superior in the passing game than the griz and only had 3 more pass attempts per game.

Kupp's performance in the semifinal loss to Towson was disastrous at times. A lot of people will blame Adams for blowing Easterns last scoring chance --if the don't blame Baldwin for poor clock management. But Kupp played like a freshman in the first half and set things up nicely for Towson to win.

Oh how cute...the #AGS fans are sweet on each other...maybe you two should get a room or did you get that out of the way already.

Agreed. Decent size, average receiver, future car salesman.

Average receiver? Hereby nominated for the stupid post of the year.

Thanks, bro. It's always an honor just to be nominated. :thumb:
Just so you know, I actually don't even know who we're talking about. Cup?

I have to give you credit, that's actually pretty funny.

Why?

Any receiver at this level that has 190 balls thrown their way in a season is going to come down with a good chunk of them.

Henderson put up more of the important numbers than cup did on 1/3 of the targets.

I guess if you are an Egals fan with that fanbase, that field and that town...............you gotta have something to talk up.

Kupp was a wrecking crew against the Griz. He catches everything thrown his way, and unlike Henderson, even over the middle and in a crowd.

Kupp is the best receiver in the conference.

Henderson is the more complete player though. Ellis's dimension of being probably the 2nd best WR and a top 3 returner in the Big Sky give him incredible value.

However Kupp really did look head and shoulders above most other WRs. Incredible catches in traffic and very hard to tackle after the catch. Even a good downfield blocker when other WRs have made the catch. He wrecked just about every secondary he played against.

I'm looking forward to seeing how both receivers do in 2014 as they'll each get the full attention from the best defenders of every team they face.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion even if the number dont back that opinion.

:coffee:

What numbers might those be? Overall stats:

Kupp; 1691 yards and 21 TDs
Henderson; 1851 all purpose yard (1008 yards receiving) and 15 total TDs

Kupp did get 2 more games in than Henderson though, but if you even break it down with per game stats Kupps receiving yards are higher, however Hendu's all purpose is higher.

Kupp; 112.7 ypg receiving
Henderson; 77.5 ypg receiving (142.7 ypg all purpose)

-----

It makes me kind of ill to defend an EWU player, haha, but for the most part the numbers are on Kupp's side. However for the record, I still believe that Henderson is the more complete player and if I were building a team and had the choice between Ellis and Kupp I would take Henderson first because of his dual threat abilities as a receiver and returner.

Good post. I would actually take Cup, however, if I were building a team. Not because he is the better wide out, but for future endeavors. The way I see it, I would be a coach for about 17 minutes before people started to question it. After my termination, I would want the Cuppy to help me sell some Subarus so I could pay the mortgage. Dude is made for it.
