Brandon Fisher and Dad out at the Rams...

As LA's D- backs coach it's reasonable to expect that he and dad, Jeff will both find themselves temporarily on the beach. Fortunately in the NFL they never really fire anybody. They just get recycled.

The Seahawks will probably win Thursday, since they never had Fisher's number, losing 4 of the last 5 to the Rams

Erik Dickerson can go to games now....saw last week how he said he would not go again as long as Fisher is coach.

That is because Fisher got him banned from the sidelines.

I know.....supposedly making players and coaches "uncomfortable" and had made some comments about coaching too. Bet the next coach doesn't ban him.

I'll stick with my conspiracy theory, we will give Fisher a call if we fire Stitt.
That would be such a bad idea.

Why? Ground and Pound coach, and think about how we could do recruiting with a long time NFL coach? Who wouldn't want to play for a coach that could get them to the league?

Because he's got about as much enthusiasm and charisma as a door. And he's one of the losingest coaches of all time.

Rams fan here since 1966, so I can attest to this. I don't think I ever saw him get in a player's face over a stupid mistake in his five mediocre to poor years with the Rams. His teams are always ranked near the bottom in practically all offensive categories. They do usually lead the league in penalties just about every year. I have developed a knee jerk reaction to whenever they make a great play, I just wait for the little yellow "Flag" box to appear in the score widget.

Two reasons to be happy this week, Fisher's sacking and the Rams are wearing white horns on their helmets for Color Rush on Thursday. Will take me back to the Roman Gabriel, Jack Snow, Merlin Olsen, and Deacon Jones days.

Really, Fisher?

Yes he didn't do much at the NFL level, but that doesn't mean he couldn't win at the FCS level. NDSU has been playing ground and pound football on their way to 5 straight national titles, on top of that you don't think Fisher couldn't recruit kids? He has tons of NFL experience and that alone would be appealing to me if i'm a kid that aspires to one day play in the league. He could bring his son with him who has played for the Griz and hire a few coaches that could get the top Montana kids as well as make a strong push into the Washington market. To say that because he struggled in the NFL doesn't mean anything, towards the FCS. The biggest thing would be the HUGE drop in pay and the prestige of dropping from the NFL to the FCS. That alone is why it will never happen.

Agree to disagree. Fisher has always been a poor coach and I have seen nothing to make me believe that he can be successful anywhere.

Opened this thread fully expecting it to be an argument about how we should hire Jeff (or Brandon) and fire Stitt.

Glad to see it's just one person.

You can still impress me, eGriz. :thumb:

This was my conspiracy theory weeks ago, its just that a conspiracy theory. 99% it will NEVER happen

An early mistake was taking Jared Goff over Carson Wentz. Goff's background with Cal's offense put him miles behind Wentz who came better prepared to the NFL having played in a system that was pro-oriented. And as slow as Goff continues to be in mastering the speed of the game I'm thinking Wentz is also smarter. Considering that Philadelphia has no down field receivers, no dependable running backs - other than an aging Darren Sproles - and a sieve-like offensive line Wentz has done remarkably well and even the normally brutal Philly press and fans are smart enough to acknowledge it. Wentz may or may not have made a difference between Fisher keeping or losing his job but the Rams front office still felt strong enough about him to give him a recent contract extension. Sunday's Falcons loss did him in. :coffee:
