Brain trauma research at UM turns to Griz athletics

I would be really interested in knowing who from athletics was involved in these "early talks" and how big of a factor Engstrom is in getting UM athletics involved with the research.

Could Haslam cite HIPAA and shut this conversation down?

What are you afraid of? Safety of our STUDENT athletes is paramount, is it not? If the research UM does leads to better equipment or rule changes that make sense without degrading the game, wouldn't you favor that so our student athletes have a better quality of life AFTER football? There can be no harm with more knowledge can there?
