Dakota Prukop makes both QB's pale in comparison as far as speed and arm.
Dakota averaged 232 passing yards per game in 2014, from a low of 93 against Portland State to a high of 361 against UC Davis.

He averaged just 15 completions per game played out of 24 attempts.

I will take Prukop over Brady any day. He is totally more mobile and skilled. Brady did a good job today but is slow.
Cripes ... one live game and you guys know everything there is to know about a player who had never started a game before.

First off, the "booth experts" thought Gustie had a "big arm" and so did I. Second, his reads seemed pretty damn good all the way through -- that's a skill too. Not mobile? True, he's not a running QB, but a nifty fake inside and a first down run sticks out pretty well in my mind. Have not yet been able to find statistics on sacks, but I do not recall that it was a disaster (and NDSU is generally damn good at that, BTW).

The only judgement you can make at this point is: Promising, but (still) unproven.

Your talking about one game for Brady against a team that may be overated going into this year. Fact, Prukop is way faster and skilled than Brady.

With the cream puff schedule the Cats have, Prukop will look like Elway! The Cats would have been buried today by NDSU! Fact: The Griz beat the number 1 team in the country! Fact: The Cats play powerhouse Ft. Lewis! Get over your man-crush, and stop talking stupid!

The cream puff schedule you talk about is not different than the Griz schedule of years past. NDSU is a shadow of what they were last year. We will see in November- chill!

This coming from the guy who said VA would NEVER play for the Ducks, etc., etc. Whats next on your long list of predictions, Nostradamus?

Hear that Bison fans? Apparently you're done because the Cats are talking shit about you. Might be a good time to schedule a home and...well a game at Bozeman.

You would have had a better season with this guy than your starter or your backup last year. I know there were loyalty and history issues but it's still true.

And what's with a 6'7'' guy doing the baseball slide after he takes off? That's a great way to sacrifice an extra 5 yards gained for an unnecessary injury to your QB.

Wait til they really get the offense down. there's a very high ceiling for this group!

Have to agree about the slide. I'm sure he heard about it from Coach Stitt!

[He played very good but the #1 rating is based on last years team. Stay real
It's the current AP Coaches Poll.

#1: NDSU

If your current QB stays true to historical form as a Ron Ash recruit.....
he'll get injured by game 6.........ash loves recruiting injury prone messiahs

FACT: they slide under the bus way easier when injured and he needs to try to cover his ass by throwing a qb under....

First game of the season against a team that is much changed and has glaring weaknesses and you are annoiting him. Brady did good but he is not mobile. Let's see what Cal Poly does. Good game for you guys today. However, it is an opening game.

It's his built-in excuse for folding late in the year, how can these guys not see that?

Passing yards:

Montana QB Brady Gustafson, 30-55, 434 yards

NDSU QB Carson Wentz: 16/28 198 yards

First game as a starting quarterback, new coach, in front of a record crowd, and Brent Musberger is calling the game on ESPN. Quite a day for Brady Gustafson. That had to be a lot of pressure, and he handled it extremely well. That was a poised young man out there today.

Imagine when he and our receivers are completely on the same page. :egriz:

So? What's your point?

First start for Gus. New system. New coach. Took some big hits. Missed at least two wide open td passes. Hung tough. We could have not asked or expected more out of him, IMO. He's only going to get better, as is the entire O. Looks very promising.

What it says is that a great chill went through Bozeman today, a cold wind.

NDSU is a shadow of itself? Four straight championships! I have no witty, shadow analogy!
The best I can do is: MSU in the FCS playoffs, is like that spit that builds up on the side of people's mouths! It's a strong mucous at first, and you can't help but stare at it, when they're talking. Eventually, it just sickens you, and It's wiped away (in the first round of the playoffs); but returns (the next season), only to be wiped away again (in the first round of the playoffs).

More of a metaphor!

Interesting, the egriz brain trust had Gustafson transferring to DII or NAIA and a true freshman starting for the griz this season.

Um...no they didn't. A few people said it...then again, some said the Griz would get spanked by NDSU ;)

Brady did great in so many ways. It's not difficult to acknowledge. Why do you care if he's mobile so much  Stitt doesn't.
