But i thought there was a changing of the guard taking place in Bozeman??? They can't keep their homegrown talent anymore???

Don't fret, VIM will say they didn't want the 1st Team All State DL and the 1st Team All State RB from this past state championship team all rolled into one player. :?

I have done nothing but praise Trace and even have stated on Bobcatnation how I did not agree with MSU not offering him. See both my posts on the Montana recruits page and the actual recruiting page. Both glowing reviews. I even ranked him as the best DT in the Shrine Game. What do you want from me! I'm glad Trace gets to go to a school that offered him.

Vim, we appreciate what you are doing. Some take the ribbing and rivalry too far. Don't let it detract from the work you are doing. This has been the most I have known about Montana high school kids I don't get to see play in person ever. You are to thank for that.

Nope, you are wrong. I think the Cats wanted him, but sometimes a kid wants to go to a different place than where he grew up. Good luck to him in the future, I think you guys got a really good one here.

Especially when that place is Blowsman....amirite???? :D :D :D

Oh please. One thing you can't do on a message board is be offended. I will, however, defend my points with actual reasoning.

good to see. I know we are recruiting him s a DL, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the heavy package in place of Kose.

soooooo, how many times did they use that.......

Just a handful of times. Not saying that will be his only role, just if we run that package I think he will fit nicely in it.

:wtf:

This kid was an outstanding player in the AA this year. He was apart of a game (Bozeman vs Capital )that when I had to scout them on film I had to say out loud "These guys look like college d-lineman." Both teams. Every one of them was smart, athletic, and played the ball carrier very well. Trace was no exception to that. It's a shame the Griz couldn't talk more of the Bozo, Capital dline athletes to come to Montana.

Although I'll take this one :D

I don't think anyone sane on here questions you Vim, you've been pretty unbiased...other scat fans, not so much.

Well, realistically.... The griz have a chance to actually claim said titles. Unlike the bobcats that could lose every single game but next spring they'll be saying they're going to the national championship. Difference its a reality for griz fans that it's possible. It's a fairy tale for the bobcats. Completely different.

How is it any different? You ask that question as a Bobcat fan? Read your board every January, February, August and September...and again in late November.....might prove insightful for you!

Bingo! Massive generalities about a fan base strikes again. :thumb:

To get the topic back on track for Payton, Trace is one of the best players coming out of the state this year. Good job on getting him to Missoula.

Here is my write-up on Bradshaw for the Shrine Game Breakdowns. Posted this about two weeks ago:

Trace Bradshaw tops the list of defensive tackles playing in this game. The Bozeman product was described by Coach Troy Purcell as "the best 3-Tech I have ever coached." The first thing that stands out to me on Trace's film is his tenacity. Plays football the right way. Second, he has good feet, evident by his 970 rushing yards his senior season for the Hawks (split duties with Balue Chapman). He does an excellent job of shedding blocks and hits the ball carrier hard. As a recruit, he has room to bulk up at 235 lbs. Put him on a college training program and watch out in two years. Also, DT is definitely his best position if he wants to play at the next level. A knock on him would be his "get off" at the line of scrimmage. However, once he gets moving, he flips a switch. In terms of high school, he is the best pure 3-tech playing in this game on either side. He has an offer from the Griz and interest from the Cats. Also has offers from nearly every Montana NAIA school. Trace is a good basketball player as well and just a good overall athlete. Interested to see where he ends up. He was the Eastern AA Co-Defensive Player of the Year.

I think Vim is easily the best cat poster around. Generally everything he says is very fair and unbiased. I am still blown away by how much he knows about these kids and recruiting classes, same with Payton.....when do you guys work??????? haha Appreciate everything both of you guys do tho!

Coming from you Badlands....that means a lot  I'm actually serious though. You are one of the biggest Griz homers around so for you to say that means I must be doing something right.
