Well its a bit early but Joe Lunardi has us a 15 seed playing Texas next year. What does everyone think? Obviously this is meant as a joke, it is way to early to worry about.

But seriously, you bring up an interesting topic. What is next year going to look like for the Big Sky Conference? Will we be a highly rated conference again next year, or will we drop down to the point where our Tourney rep will be a 16 seed again?

Here's my Post Season, Pre Season Poll (Make sense?)

1. Montana - Loss of Criswell, Matthews hurts but you'll have a ton of Senior leaders next year and with the addition of that Aussie you guys deserve to be the favorite

2. Portland State - You guys may think I'm nuts but Portland has all the key parts coming back except Shroeder. Kumara, Washington, Sommer, and Morrison will help PSU contend for the title

3. Sacramento State- Losing Harris and Freeman won't be as big of a blow as it seems. Haron Hargrave and Hawaii transfer Kris Groce will share time at PG . The team was 2-9 WITH Harris after he came back and I think Clark Woods poses more of an offensive threat at the SF.

4. Northern Arizona- NAU loses Sir and Golob which will make them and inside team with Landry and Boykin Next year.

5. Eastern Washington- I don't think Rodney Stuckey is coming back next year for EWU, but if he does you can put them up there ahead of Sac.

6. Idaho State- Idaho State will finish the highest of all the teams with new coaches next year. They lose Slim and some other firepower, but they have a lot of young talent.

7. Weber State- They lose Stovall and Riggs, their two best players. However Patten will get a chance next year to shine and he's a very good player.

8. Montana State- MSU was very disappointing last year with its 5 returning starters, so maybe I'll be wrong on this. They're losing their 4 best players in my opinion and a disgruntled Casey won't be an effective PG after daddy was forced out. Huse will do a good job I'm sure, but don't expect instant results

Montana
Eastern
NAU
PSU
Sac
ISU
MSU
WSU
UNC

Tournament:

NAU over ISU
Sac over PSU

Montana over Sac
Eastern over NAU

Montana over Eastern

(okay, now that I've gotten a workout with an excercise in futility, I can get back to work).

I had heard that he may not be planning on coming back to EWU. I mentioned it here before and got bombarded by angry Eagle fans. I have a source (cousin) at EWU who heard his future there may be up in the air...

Up in the air, as in transfer / NBA / out of school?

i dont think he's going anywhere. at least for the next year, maybe two. we all agree that he is a great talent. but let's face it, he's not playing in a top conference, and he's not winning championships. there are a lot of good players out there, better than him, and i think it would be wise for him to hang out for a while, get better, and get more recognition. remember walsh at florida/ he had so much hype around him, he leaves early, and where is he now? if he's in the league it's at the very end of the bench. how about scotty thurman? one of the best college players of the 90's, and he leaves early, and goes undrafted. hopefull stuckey has someone looking out for HIS best interest, and unfortunately for the rest of us, that should mean a couple more years of him.
