Bozeman State Bobcats scouting report

My keys. Can UM’s OL handle MSU’s front 4? Can MSU establish any type of run game?

And obviously big plays (turnovers and special teams)

Is this is your best d-lineman's production (Sterk - 2.5 sacks. 3.5 TFLs and 22 tackles, or 3 per game, in conference play), then the question should be: do the Griz have to play their starting o-line against the Cats?

My question is how in the world do the Cats expect to score on the Griz?

Ty and Candace were at the Griz/Weber game.

Sterk has been regularly double teamed the past few weeks plus he’s fighting an injury. I think over the past quite a few weeks our best DL have been the interior guys, Marks and Benson.

As for the offense scoring, I honestly share your same concerns every week. We are not fun to watch offensively, but somehow this is the highest scoring team of the Choate era. Still have no idea how they are doing it.

Ty and Kandice are good peeps. They seem to be adjusting well to life after football.

Anderson is playing hurt, Ifanse just got back, and it seems like there are a lot more. Who's left for the Cats to make a difference?

Definitely one of the more injury riddled seasons I’ve seen in a long time. Keeping things together with baling wire and duct tape.

I can almost guarantee Hauck will run a fake punt or field goal out of special teams... and go for 2 the first time the Griz score.

Battle in the trenches- always the key.

When Griz get 1st and goal from the five, I predict:

- Ostmo up the gut for 2.
- Ostmo up the gut for TD.
- Wait, time out cats - No TD.
- Eastwood up the gut for TD.

It would be interesting to see how the coaches approach this game from a mental prep standpoint. Bobby is very well versed with the Brawl of The Wild. Made a mistake or two early on as a head coach in the rivalry. Who has the most measured approach and keeps the right balance. Plenty of motivation after last year and for some players - several years. I would hate to get in Dante’s way on Saturday.

Jace thinks you slighted him.

That would be cosmic justice! :thumb:

I agree. It will likely come down to offense and defense and special teams and turnovers. I think it will be a game of football.

I’m gonna go with the team that manages to score the most points. That team usually wins.

Any intangibles, like DOLA, for example?

Is the cats front 4 better than the other cats front 4(Weber). I don't think it is. We didn't rush for a ton of yardage, think we will rush for more against the cats, but Sneed was pretty clean all day. If we can protect Sneed that well, score 30+, Griz win.

thx.

It would seem to me that when the Bozeman team loses to the Griz they would fall out of the playoffs as they would have 3 fcs losses plus 1 too a pretty mediocre Texas Tech (sorry AZ) and a truly terrible strength of schedule. Am I missing something?

They won't get a seed but 8 FCS wins gets them a first round "play-in" game, which would almost certainly be in Bozeman due to the bidding process.

They have 8 d1 wins, and the bubble is extremely weak this year.

They're 100% a lock to make the playoffs.

What time does the flight to Fargo leave?

 Probably the Friday before the second round games. :thumb:

You have to think that if we beat MSU, and they miss out on a seed, there's a strong likelihood that they'll travel to either Weber or NDSU after their first round game, since they already played us and Sac.
