Montana bludgeons MSU men from behind arc
. . . over and over, Montana’s players spotted up on the perimeter, caught passes and canned 3-pointers. Sometimes, they raised an arm to celebrate. Other times, they screamed. After it became the norm, they just jogged back on defense. But each time, the Dahlberg Arena roared as the Grizzlies performed like they usually have in this rivalry in the past decade.

In an offensive onslaught reminiscent of Montana State’s past debacles, UM’s shooters put on a show. The Grizzlies made 11 of 19 3-pointers and obliterated an MSU defense that entered the contest with the ninth best 3-point percentage defense (28.3%) in the country. The Grizzlies have now beaten the Bobcats 18 of the last 19 times they played. MSU hasn’t won in Missoula in 3,626 days, or since Feb. 27, 2010, a drought that will last another year. The Bobcats’ starving fan base was left remaining hungry once again. Danny Sprinkle went 5-4 in his career against UM as a Bobcat player in the late 1990s. But a chance to succeed in the rivalry as MSU’s first-year head coach went unfulfilled . . .
