you guys travel well, you'll be everywhere.

i'd say like most towns the bar that suits you will depend on your age! i'm almost 40 now  , so most of the places downtown are awful to me. but give me a place like the gran tree, cannery, almost any distillery or even the cats paw and i'm a happy guy.

if you're a young buck, it seems the kids still go to the same places; R bar, Bar 9, Crystal, Legion etc.

safe travels.

There's a really nice bar up SpringHill Road...check it out!!!

I wouldn’t go downtown. But it does depend on what kind of scene you’re looking for. The Hide-a-way lounge on west main shows a lot of big sky games and isn’t really a college bar (good pork chop sandwich, too). They Dry Fly at the holiday inn on 7th is a good environment for a grown-ups sports bar. The head guy there is big on Pittsburgh sports if you’re into that kind of thing. I watched a playoff game at the Lucky Lil’s on north 19th once...the bartender and most of the crowd were griz fans. But if you must go downtown the Cannery is probably the best place. Owned by an 84 bobcat whose son (Dane Fletcher) was also a star. He usually does it up big for griz-cat.

Like they said:

Young guys - Rockin R, Crystal, Pour House, 317, etc. Anywhere on the East side of downtown really
Older crowd - Hide-A-Way, Cat's Paw, Korner Klub, GranTree

And yeah, Cannery is pretty sweet. Small, but lots of Cat Griz swag.

Specs will be a zoo, so will downtown

yep. love specs but it's just not worth the hassle for me to try and navigate that place! in my older age I've found that with the right group of people, I can be pretty happy anywhere as long as it's not packed and cocktails don't take forever. hell, I got stuck at old Chicago a couple years ago and still managed to have a blast!

Is the Molly Brown still around?

yep. basically a smaller version of the cats paw but crowd tends to be at least maybe a little younger. but not packed with college kids as they wisely head east and chase some tail...

lots of pool tables there though and I believe they have live cards every night too. cats paw has a couple tables set up for live poker these days so the game must be pretty good.

Havent been to the bars in Bozeman for Cat/Griz but I will say I have had good food at the Grantree. Great steak and jalapeno mashed potatoes. If it hasnt changed and the bar does a good job for Cat/Griz it could be a great spot for the trip.

Copper Whiskey also a good, more low key type of place.

It's not a bar, but if you're gonna be in Bozeman this weekend go eat at Roost. Best fried chicken known to man. I'll probably eat there at least once all three days I'm there

Gus's Fried Chicken in Memphis.

I miss the Hide-Away, wife and I had to move back to Iowa for her schooling. was tough being a Griz fan in bozeangeles. usually stayed home or went to friends places.
the ratsclaw would be decent, Korner Klub is sweet, real good popcorn chicken (can't remember what they call it right now)

Copper. Too expensive for a college kid so its an adult place downtown. Good whiskey/scotch/bourbon. Dead serious when I say this, the Buffalo Jump in Gateway, the non-strip club side(plus its not a strip club anymore on the other side) has really comfortable chairs and is a chill place. Plenty of TV's to watch games on.

And there is that bar out on Springhill. Its the only griz bar in town. You can't miss it. Just keep driving until you see it. If you haven't found it, just keep going.
