Both Montana schools get in Top 5 FCS Stadiums

It's about time that they got that turf... I remember having to march on that in the marching band during 2007 in the marching band. It was so muddy and messy.

Speaking of turf, aren't we do for a replacement ourselves? John Edwards said 3-4 years ago that the turf was already past its expiration date and considering the fact Cliff paid for it, I assume he would know. I realize there are more pressing needs, but is there anything in long-term planning of the stadium (if such exists) to account for this? Just wondering...

You guys must have bought some cheap turf then, you just put new down in 08 I think, usually the stuff should last at least 10 years and usually 15 or more.

It really got tore up bad in 07, had a couple of real mudbowls that year, turf was installed for the 08 season.

That's the estimate for a team like the cats that only plays 5-6 games on the turf a year on average as compared to a team like the Griz that plays 8-9 games a year on their home turf on average...

  the only problem with your thinking is that non game activities and the elements have a much bigger affect on turf life that actual games, that and the dirty little fact that over the last 3 years MSU has twice as many playoff games on their home turf than the fizz have :thumb:

It was replaced, when they made the end zones maroon. And it was under warranty so the FieldTurf company paid for it. :thumb:

Not quite. The Old turf was seven years old, budgeted to last 10 years. After the seventh year, the company (I thought it was SprinTurf) contacted UM with a great deal if they replaced it early. Half off, if I remember right. UM jumped at the chance.
