That Ah Yat has been the #2 QB all along and can now play the entire rest of the year including the playoffs without burning his redshirt!
If true, how did this Board with its thousand eyes and ears and informed sources miss this bonanza of a development for this program?!!
Has been discussed quite a bit on the eGriz club side for a couple weeks now.
And I made the observation after watching several pre-season fall practices that Ah Yat looked better throwing the football than any of the QBs. Guess this was prior to one of my ridiculous banings for being too objective and not drinking the Kool-aid to actually talk football instead of hype . This was during "Vidlak will be our great starting QB" era. I also stated during the fall that Vidlak did not impress me, and that even Kris Brown looked better. Of course, I endured the predictable venom from the pedestrian posters and Hauck-sniffers. But it was Ah Yat who looked the best, and I stated as much. For some of you old-timers, I used to post regularly about my observations at fall practice, and one memorable one was when I stated that the true frosh Jordy Johnson looked better in practice than the 2-3 QBs who were slated to be above him in the QB room that fall.
For those of us who actually know something about player evaluation, we can make prospective evaluations about players, instead of waiting for the coaches to make the judgement that the young player is better than the established starter. I also posted during fall practice that a little known new frosh recruit named Peter Nguyen would be getting lots of reps at RB during the season. He ended-up getting lots of carries as a frosh RB. Same observations for Toure and Akem as true freshmen. Of all of the Stitt WRs who came in (and there were a bunch, as you remember), I predicted those two would be the studs.
Not saying I am the only poster capable of this, as there are several of us (most have stopped posting however). But when the board has "de-volved" over the years into more of a social media site, along with a Bobcat obsession site, the actually good football posters leave. Real football talk is at about a 25% level from the past years. Sad. Those of us who have been board contributors for many years know that this board is a shell of its former self. Fewer posters contributing, and mostly drivel now.
You see, when a poster is able to actually be objective about Grizzly football, instead of trying so hard to be a "good fan" politically-correct poster, he can provide some real football info, instead of just reading a boring script.
