They looked at Missouri Valley, Big West and West Coast...

With the AAC currently only interested in adding Boise State’s football program according to Apsey’s email, the Broncos would need to find a home for the other sports in a different conference to make it work.

The ‘Athletics 2020 and Beyond’ document from Larrondo lists three conferences as possibilities in the second item under the “where should we focus our efforts to advance the programs” section.

“With a football move to the AAC, determine basketball programs and Olympic sports conference move that provides best opportunity for program success – West Coast Conference, Big West Conference, Missouri Valley Conference, etc,” the document said.

Boise State ended its season with a 34-20 loss to San Jose State in the Mountain West title game on Saturday. The Broncos elected not to participate in a bowl game.

Harsin was asked last week about Boise State’s place in the Mountain West and his push to leave the conference but declined to comment, saying “those are things we’ll get into later.”

If I were BSU, I’d put a hold on that and let the chips fall from COVID, see who’s left standing (because i think several programs are going belly up) and then they may have a little more bargaining power.

Boise State now looking for a football coach... Harsin just got the "F- OUT" of the Mountain West and now the head man at Auburn. Great gig for him.

I’d imagine Choate on a short list for boise job.

Has to be. At 28-22, he’s definitely proven that he can take a team to games and coach in the games.

I like how you think. Let’s start a letter writing campaign to discourage Boise from hiring him. I’ll commit to 20 strongly worded letters.

But think of the hot wing surplus if he leaves Bozeman. Prices would plummet.

Who wouldn’t want an FCS coach with zero conference titles.

Never saw him at the Dry Fly for free hot wings night. I think ol Choatster is more bourgeois than he comes across

Boise State thinks so high of themselves that they’ll try to shoot for the moon and hire Gus Malzahn or somebody like that. That said, a former BSU football player started a petition to make Choate the next head coach.

What is his record against the Griz?
Why would that be a hiring criteria; you've expressed a hundred times how Montana is a second rate program, far below MSU. You like it both ways.

Even when I was living in the Treasure Valley I couldn't stand them. Got to thinking back, I was always for the visiting team.

If that's the record that matters, he's definitely overqualified for the Boise job. An undefeated FCS coach could easily go to Wyoming.
