I don't want to move up any more. :D :D
Uuuhhh, ya I don't think so. They're playing U of Tenn Martin this weekend. They could throw their third stringers and Boise's high school varsity team out there and win that game

Boise should beat Tenn. Martin and might even still win the MWC, but this ain't the Broncos' offense of recent years. And loved watching UW bitch slap them (on replay cause I was in Wash-Griz obviousl). I am going to enjoy a college football season not having to hear how the little guy (Boise) gets screwed with the BCS. Love Matt Miller and hope he does well, HATE BOISE STATE.

I hate no playoffs and SEC bias much more than I do the little guy subject

Not sayin I don't hate those things too, though there will be a playoff in 2014. But as a fan who dates back to the earlier Big Sky days I will ALWAYS dislike Boise State. And their "little guy gets screwed" mantra the last several years only made me dislike them more. I respect what they've done, but I am not a fan and never will be. Much in the exact same mold as I will never ever jump on the Gonzaga basketball wagon either.

Boise St. was not even around in the early days of the BSC.

+ 1 but I'm also a Dawg fan so it was a double dose of sweet wholesome goodness for me! :thumb:

Living in southern Idaho, I don't share the same love for Boise State that the rest of southern Idaho does, but at the same point I don't hate them. I don't hate Boise State I just am generally indifferent to them. I feel sorry for Idaho on the other hand. Lots of pity.

In fact if I were to build a model on how to do things at the highest level of college football, Boise would be one a few programs that I would choose. There are so many things wrong with college football at the highest level, but Boise State isn't one of them. From a high school football coaches perspective, I have yet to find a program that is so open and willing to grow the sport in its home state.

Most fans down here are frustrated, because this isn't the BSU team of years past and maybe more importantly have a fair share of delusions that many of our worst fans posses, about issues of coaching incompetency (their OC has become their whipping boy, which should sound familiar in Griz-ville). Though most have a rational understanding this might be one of the weaker BSU teams in recent memory in regards to national prominence. In fact they should still win the MWC with little stress because in a lot of ways they are still light years better than much of the conference.

My in-laws are huge Idaho fans and have a strong hatred of all things BSU... not much different from some of the anti-cat/anti-griz stuff you hear on this board. As such, I have to hear constant anti-BSU sentiment almost on a daily basis, especially from the father-in-law. You hear things from how inadequate BSU is academically, how most BSU fans aren't alum but rather bandwagon jumpers, and that the fans are delusional about their standing on their ranking among the elite.

Despite people's feelings on the fan base and the school itself, you can't take much away from BSU's football team. Chris Peterson operates one of the classiest programs in the country, he graduates his players, holds players accountable for their actions regardless of their talent, and flat out wins games. He does that with kids that often get overlooked by teams in the power conferences. It's only been recently that they've been able to compete for some higher level recruits, such as Miller.

I am not a real BSU fan but I am a strong Coach Peterson fan. He is a loyal, no BS, stand up guy and knows how to discipline players that get out of line. Ask Titus Young as he sat out a year. I am sure Coach Pete is now saying thank God he is gone but he was in line while here. One thing about BSU you don't have to like them but you have to admire what they have done.

As far as being an Idaho fan not a chance!!!! They are a bunch of big talking want-to-be's in my opinion starting with the AD.

The Boise State football program will be docked nine scholarships over a three-year period, and the athletic department must serve three years' probation as a result of widespread rules violations, the NCAA announced Tuesday.

n its statement, the NCAA said, "Boise State failed to establish an adequate compliance system to report NCAA rules violations with regard to impermissible housing, transportation and other benefits to prospective and enrolled student-athletes. The university failed to provide adequate rules education and training to staff members to ensure compliance.

"In addition, the university failed to monitor its program to deter, find and report instances of NCAA violations to the NCAA."

The Committee on Infractions cited recruiting, impermissible housing and transportation violations in the football program during the summers of 2005 through 2009. In particular, the committee noted that the football violations occurred over a lengthy period of time and involved 63 prospective student-athletes.

Just sayin...

If you read this report havgrizfan you will find it is not much different than what the Griz experienced - A foreign exchange student living with a family connected with the athletic department by being a season ticket holder after being recruited. Boy that is a no-no and he also was given a car by them to use during his stay in the US and a gift of air fare to travel during the holidays. What a crime! Sure there are meals and other incidentals not much different than we experienced. The nine scholarships are not nine for a three year period they are nine scholarship years. This was not, and is not Ohio State, Auburn, USC, Miami, etc.

I am not defending them but trying to give you the full story. You could find those violations in every program in the US. Just saying....
