Not a lot of people know about this rumor, but, in 2013, Ron Ash actually lost one of the mobile locker rooms that were parked in the open end zone of Reno H. Sales when he tried to tow it up to his archery camp with his Honda Ridgeline. He was two glasses of pinot grigio deep, and it went about how you might expect.

6-5
7-5
7-4
9-3
10-3
11-2
7-5
8-5
and then had another stinker at, say, 5-6?
Let's say he had three conference titles in that span and four years being ranked in the final polls. Let's say he took the program from a straight up loser to a relevant concern.
Fire him after that 5-6 campaign?
So if he pulls a Rob Ash?
Let’s revisit it in 9 years and I’ll let you know.
Ha! I'm just glad you guys are excited about having a winning season. It sucked there for awhile when you were actually good and had an award-winning HC. Getting jazzed about a caveman's baby steps is exactly what we want you to be doing.
I understand what you’re getting at.
BUT... I don’t believe for a second you thought it sucked when Ash was around. He consistently had talented teams. Talented teams that peaked in October and ultimately went 2-7 against the griz. Teams that went on to go 2-4 in the playoffs. Nationally relevant in the sense they were consistently in the top 25 and made the playoffs a few times, but never a real threat to do much by the end of the season. And I did like Ash for the majority of the time he was the coach. But by the end it was clear the team had hit its plateau with him and he had completely lost the locker room. It was time for a change by that point.

 Well, Payton...you raise a very good point. I just see an uptick in the "fire in the belly" of that team to the east. That's a good 10% of fixing the problem.Paytonlives said:Yukon said:Cats are good and will only get better.
Been hearing that for a long time...
