Bobcats at Wyoming

I’m just glad Wyoming pulled it out in the end! Go Pokes! Honestly, as a Wyoming fan, I’m pretty disgusted with that game. Just a gross way to start the season almost losing to Montana State. Hopefully the offensive play calling and execution gets better, or else it’s going to be a long season.

The Griz turn now. You guys have a tougher game but let’s see how it goes. Cats did good . QB Mc Kay is the teal deal. Defense played excellent. Bring on the rest of the season!!

“Tougher game” might be the understatement of the year.

Realistically, its not going to be pretty, except at the bank, that'll be outstanding!

Darn, the Cats lose. You just hate to see it (she says sarcastically).

I love a happy ending.

Yep, 3-7-77 I think the Cats coaches are disappointed they lost but feeling real good as to how the team performed after 2 years not playing a game against a projected to be very good FBS Wyoming team.

If the Scats win this and we lose to UW, they will claim that they had the tougher opponent

Exactly
You are both dumb. Literally not one Bobcat fan I know of has said out made such a ridiculous comparison.

Infact, I made a big bet with a griz buddy of mine a few years back the last time you played Washington. Let’s just say he was delusion and was happy to spot him 21.

Anyways, looking forward to seeing the griz play an actual game that isn’t an actual fbs contender.

I swear... Wasn't Montana JUCO supposed to play a real opponent like Oregon before the coordinated lockdown?

Speaking of a team projected to very good, Griz D solid in the first half against the Huskies.

See ya in November.

Curious how much your buddy fleeced you for this year. And, are you still waiting for that actual game?

Too funny, I forgot all about this post. Definitely have to eat some humble pie here. Also I’m glad I had not bet him this year, would not have heard the end of it.

My neighbor tried telling me the bubcats have the best QB “room” in the BSC. At first, I thought he was talking about some space in the new lean-to shed that has walls and even flooring.

But no, he was referring to the actual players in that room. I also assumed he was including the cowboy LBer, but wrong-o again-o.

His basis for such an absurd proclamation? He said last year’s semifinalist QB is now QB#4 and QB#2 is a true freshman who splits time with QB#1 but only for running plays. I asked about QB#3 and all he said was the kid is 6’10”.

None of this sounded good to me but there’s no reasoning with them.

How come?

So far QB1 looks to be pretty good. Can't find anything glaringly negative to say about his play so far. But I'm sure you guys over here will so curious to hear it.

I don't know if Mellott is QB2 for certain, but he has been seeing some time in wildcat stuff. It's been forever since we had a stud from Butte on offense and I think many of us are excited about him. Like that we're finding ways to use him.

I haven't paid enough attention to really know whos QB3 and QB4 between Bauman and Rovig. If I'm being honest I don't want to find out. My guess is if something happened and QB1 went down, I'd be shocked if it wasn't QB4 (Rovig) taking the reins. As I said, I hope I don't have to find that out.

In regards to the cowboy linebacker, he's played almost as many snaps at QB this season than he did in 2019. I can only PRAY that Hauck prepares for him to be QB1 like he did last time we met. :thumb:

Ok so you basically confirmed the same thing my neighbor said. Some oddball crap like your best QB would rather play D, the starter gets pulled for a true freshman wildcat, and the other two really suck and have for years.

That doesn’t equate to very much at most BSC schools. Let me try to put it in train-driving:
Not sucking =/= being great at *n
(where n is any BSC school other than MSC)

So if they do not have any great QBs, how can they possibly have the best collection of QBs in the league?

Yeah, I don’t know if I would say we had the best qb room. Kind of funny. We have two good back up qbs. That’s probably a better way of putting it. If our back ups are better than other backups I’m not sure

This confuses me. The real question in Bozeman has always been, "Are the backups better than the starter?" Now, were talking about whether the backups are better than other backups? We're just a few posts away from the time-honored, "Our backups would start for most teams" comment.

Wait, are you talking about QB#3 and #4? (i.e. the ones whom already won and lost the starting spot years ago and now come in only after the rookie wildcat QB#2 and after the cowboy opts out)?

Hey this isn't fair. I've heard MANY times this year that your backup is better than your starter. In fact, a poster on BN said your backup is the greatest you've had. That seems par for the course.

I don't think any sane person would say the Cats have the best qb room in the conference. But that came from garrizzes "neighbor" who is no doubt fictional.

But I don't see how any Cat fan could have an issue with our qb's per se. McKay seems to be a great get, although small sample size. I love that Mellott is getting in games. I'd bet money that had he went to the griz you all would be excited about his body of work as well.

And as I said, in regards to QB3 and 4, I think we're in trouble if we're in a position to start wondering if our third or fourth string player is better. But I have yet to hear anyone in real life suggest that. Just some "neighbor"....

 Well, I haven't read that from anyone who still has posting privileges on eGriz. I don't read BCN more than once a year or so, so I don't know what's posted there and I'll take you at your word. IDK anything about Mellott's body of work, either. It's safe to say I get 99.8% of my Bobcat news on eGriz.
